Airport & Amtrak Transfers We offer relaxed, comfortable transportation to and from the Albany International Airport. Transfers by Mercedes-Benz between the Inn and the airport are priced at $200 per one-way trip, $350 per round-trip. Amtrak offers daily services from New York’s Penn Station to Albany & Castleton, Vermont on the Ethan Allen Express. We offer free Amtrak transfers from the Castleton train station just fifteen minutes from the inn. Advance booking is highly recommended.

Interaction with guest

You’re immediately struck by the ambience and the architectural décor of The Loft. This residential ambience provides a true sense of place. It’s open, airy loft-like beamed ceiling beautifully frames this storybook experience. Large windows throughout deliver postcard views as the morning sun illuminates the space shortly after rising above adjacent Northeast Mountain. The furnishings are interesting as they are eclectic, from an English Pine armoire, to a resting basket of vintage billiard balls. Working wooden decoy ducks sit comfortably on a single hand-hewn beam, nearby is a single ten-foot oar from an early 1960s English regatta along with a trove of other interesting artifacts. Our breakfast menu is extraordinary...

This past autumn was perhaps the best year in a decade with the fall colors catching us all by surprise. Absolutely magnificent! And, it was fun experimenting with a few breakfasts, however the best breakfast was the Potato Nested Escargot with Garlic-Parsley Scrambled Eggs… absolutely delicious, but may not be on everyone’s breakfast radar. You captured the morning moment perfectly—sitting comfortably in the east-facing classic green Adirondack chairs with a mug of our Pond Mountain Inn blend coffee as the sun slowly rises behind Northeast Mountain. All the sights and sounds come alive surrounded by distant meadows and dramatic mountain views. The morning may be the most special part of the day. We wished that you could have stayed longer, but you will next time. It was fun doing the bacon “taste test” … our bacon was always very good, but now since we’ve taken our bacon and sausage to the next level, it’s extraordinary! For everyone that’s reading this, we only buy Dankin Farm (Vermont) bacon and sausage, which you can buy direct. Also, we raise our own pigs with our neighbor on their property, which is a fun visit for our guests—our bacon that comes from pigs we raise is delicious, but completely different. How do damage deposits work?

If Glenn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
