Description
Villa Alkistis is located in the scenic area of the village Agia Paraskevi, just 8 km from the historical town of Rethymno (Crete) and 3,5 Km from the village of Platanes, where you can find many taverns, shops, bars, super markets e.t.c.
Idyllically positioned in a peaceful full of trees hill, Alkistis is a new building villa surrounded of olive groves and wild plants. It’s a lovely family house, about 110 sqm, with a private swimming pool and it is suitable for 6-8 persons.
With its relaxed welcoming atmosphere, villa has been build and furnished to a comfortably high standard on two floors and offers fantastic views over the villages, the hills and the nearby sea.
On the ground floor there is the living area with fireplace, TV., dining table- chairs and with pretty sofas (one can be used as double bed, where two more persons can sleep). There is also a full-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge and oven and there is one wide bedroom with double bed too. In the bathroom of this floor you will also find a douse cabin and the washing machine. The living room and the kitchen have doors leading to the veranda near the swimming pool, where you will enjoy your swimming, the sun and the full of stars evenings.
We will go up to the stairs to the first floor, where you will find two bedrooms with two beds in each of them and a pretty bathroom. Two doors lead to an excellent veranda with a panoramic view to the sea and the mountains.
You will walk into this property and you will see the barbeque and the swimming pool with the surrounding garden. We must say that the two verandas are equipped with comfortable wooden garden- furniture, but you will also find sun beds and sun umbrellas into the grass- garden which surrounds the house. The short stone walls around the villa gives the sense of seclusion and privacy to all guests.

“Family holiday”
The villa was perfect with amazing views. Great pool which we all used everyday. The owners were always available and very friendly. The bottle of wine waiting for us was thoughtful and kind ,thank you. Will definitely be booking again next year, but for two weeks instead of one .

“Perfect... the villa, the pool, the view and the owners were all perfect.”
We travelled to Crete with our boys aged 16 and 9 for a wedding. The villa gave us a base for our short stay. Despite our flight being delayed the owners Argiro and Nicos meet us just off the main road after midnight and lead us up to the villa ensurering we were settled in. The villa is pleasantly decorated with comfortable beds, lots of outdoor furniture and a reasonably well equipped kitchen. The place was spotless when we arrived and Nicos visited once during our stay to tend to the garden. Our youngest son spent hours in the pool and the wifi kept our older boy connected with the outside world. I enjoyed soaking up the view and the sunshine from the patio in the early mornings. You do lose the sun quite early in the afternoon but that did mean I did not have to worry about my 9 year old getting sunburnt in the pool. The roof terrace caught the sun later than the garden. We walked to the beach one day but took a taxi back as the road is rather steep. This villa is only suitable if you have a car. We will return for a longer holiday.

Response from the owner We always accept with plesure all reviews because we strogly beleive that they will help us to get better and better. During our guests staying we often use to ask them if they need something and if everything is ok. Besides Nikos the owner goes to the villa every second day to water the garden and clean the pool filter. We never were asked for anything from these guests. Of course there is a mop always in the west side of the garden near the veranda. About the safety, there is a protection system between the pool and the veranda. Besides the photos of the house are very clean so everyone can see all spaces and be able to deside. In our opinion children of 1-2 years old must be under parents' protection every second wherever they are. And a last thing: the first thing our guests always mention is cleaning and views.
