Cute little off-grid timber frame surrounded by thousands of acres of woods, streams & trails; perched on a hardwood ridge with amazing panoramic views of the valley. ATV, snowmobile, snowshoe or hike right from the cabin. Everything is sparkling clean at Moose Mountain Cabin on Skyline Ridge; the cabin is fully equipped with water, linens, towels, pots, pans, silverware, dishes, etc.
Even the approach is scenic; drive to the tiny village of Andover at the end of the state highway Rt 5. Continue north into the mountains, and the road soon turns to dirt. Drive along the babbling Sawyer Brook for another mile. Turn right just before the road turns into a snowmobile trail in the Notch. Wind your way up onto the ridge through a beautiful birch forest. Drive to the very end of the road and you're there!
Settle in, enjoy the panoramic mountain view from the huge open deck under the hemlock trees. No TV, no noise, no traffic, no people. Sit on the deck, sipping percolated steaming coffee. Doze off in the hammock under the towering hemlock trees. You won't miss electricity. Snuggle by the wood stove and play checkers or read. Just you, your family, (including your pets!) and books, board games, crossword puzzles, cards, campfire, woods, streams, waterfalls, owls, turkeys, deer, moose and mountains, lots of mountains. Wander down the trail and see a moose. Find antler sheds. Snow shoe, ski, hike, bike, ATV, kayak... or... just SIT and do nothing! Wake up in the morning and enjoy the panoramic mountain view, without moving a muscle, from the huge bedroom window. Additional huge windows in the kitchen and living room assures you will not miss the gorgeous sunset from any room. Even the bathroom!!
The cabin is non-electric so you can UNPLUG... no intrusions from the outside world. For your comfort and convenience, it has gas lights, a gas refrigerator/freezer, a full size gas range with oven and BBQ grill on the deck. The bathroom has a clean, odor free composting toilet, seasonal gravity fed solar-heated shower and a sink. (Shower with Solar bag in winter) Water and firewood for the wood stove are provided. There is a comfy QUEEN bed in a private bedroom; two twin size beds in the cozy loft, window overlooking the mountains. WE ARE PET FRIENDLY; do not leave Fido behind! There is plenty of room for him to run.
PLEASE NOTE: We are on a hill, it provides the AWESOME view; AWD/4WD, and good tires required in winter! November through April. Expect snow, ice, mud, wind... this is an outpost!
