Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We are delighted you enjoyed your stay. A good point with the mirror, we will potentially get one added in the small room if we can find a safe & useful location for one. The house was clean, nicely furnished, with comfy beds and the kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, spices and cookbooks. It's a nice walk through tree-lined paths and along side the railway line to the centre of Aviemore.

“Excellent location, great value for money”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2017

We stayed here for 1 week and it was our 1st time to Scotland. We wanted to see Edinburgh, which we did, and was around 2.5 hours away, however, we planned to deliberately stay in the Highlands as we wanted to explore more of this region. This is a superb location or base for exploring the surrounding areas. We went on a couple of beautiful trail walks, passing some sheep along the way and beautiful country landscape, through to some cute villages. There's so much to see and do within a 2hrs driving radius. It's near the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, which we thoroughly enjoyed :-), we visited the Cairngorm Mountain, Inverness Castle, Avoch, Channonry Point to see the dolphins, we went on a Landrover Safari at the Red Deer Centre and went up into the mountains!! Breath-taking!....the list goes on!! There's of course the whiskey distilleries! Recommend going to Alberfour to get some fine whiskey that you must likely will not see on the supermarket shelves due to the quality. For some shopping we liked Edinburgh and The House of Bruar. I bought a lovely 100% Cashmere stole from Balmoral Cashmere. The Lochs!! Omg....there's so many breath-taking lochs, waterfalls, streams when driving through Scotland. Lochness is around 1.5 hours from this accommodation. We loved our stay in the house as it is situated in a lovely quiet close that backs the woods. Most days we were lucky to see the male and female pheasants in our garden! :-) There's a bench table and plenty of space, including some chopped wood. We loved the heater in the lounge, it worked great! It was very well equipped to. You don't need to bring anything and there's more food supplied than normal which is nice e.g. drawer full of spices, cupboards with all the sauces and cooking tools and anything else that you would need. The nearby village is really cute! The railway station is so cute. It's best to drive there if you are in a rush to buy some groceries but it's not too far. The bedrooms were really comfy and clean, bathrooms also clean and well equipped etc. The only thing we couldn't get to work was the wifi, but apart from that, we found this to be excellent and were really happy there. There's tennis courts nearby also and a smaller retail park just down the road. We would definitely recommend this to those looking to spend their days in the Highlands and Edinburgh etc. We ate at an awesome restaurant called The Old Stone, or The Old Stone Bridge (I can't remember its name unfortunately).

“Great located house”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2017

No issues at all with the house. Lots of room, and plenty in the house. Towels, bedding all clean sufficient. Only got 4 stars as storage heaters which are a very dry heat and no wifi/sky. Might have been handy if there was a travel cot/ high chair and stair gate (stairs are quite steep). Small area of garage for storing anything is there too. Back garden is lovely with trees out the back , we seen deer and pheasants.
