“Honeymoon in Dreamsicle” My husband and I stayed at Maya Beach Hotel in the Lower Dreamsicle House for our Honeymoon in May. Our experience with Maya Beach Hotel and the staff was outstanding. Our "house" was clean, and private, with beautiful views of the ocean and just steps away from the restaurant. It was so nice to sit on the lower porch and enjoy our coffee and breakfast each morning, and enjoy a cool beverage while sitting on the beach with our feet keeping us cool in the ocean waves. When we wanted to explore the area or take adventures, Ellen and her staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. Martin was always willing to give us our options for activities and help us coordinate our adventures. Without their help and recommendations, we wouldn't have been able to experience the local favorite hot spots or organize our adventures with ease. It was so nice that they coordinated someone to pick us up and drop us off at the airport for our arrival and departure. You can tell they really enjoy what they do, and their passion is unmatched. When we come back to Belize we will definitely stay at Maya Beach Hotel and we recommend it to anyone looking for a beach front relaxing vacation!

“Fabulous beach views, beautiful pool, good amenities, great serv” Aqua Villa is the perfect place to stay if you want to be close-but-not-too-close to busy Placencia. The house has a beautiful pool plus a fabulous ocean view, and we spent many hours lounging on the deck enjoying both. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked (even a blender!), the wifi connected, and the a/C worked when we wanted it, but we often just left the windows open to the sea breeze. The living room is tiny but the with the tropical weather, we never stayed indoors. Maid service from the Maya Beach Hotel was excellent. We have stayed at two other resorts in the Placencia area and having "our own" house while still enjoying the services of the Maya Beach Hotel was the best of both worlds. The area is quiet and agua Villa is within walking distance of a grocery store, making it easy to do your own cooking. Cooking your own seafood and eating outside was a highlight. We also tried many wonderful restaurants, and the best restaurant of the week was just steps away, the Maya Beach Hotel Bistro. We had to force ourselves to try other restaurants because the Maya Beach Bistro was so good. We rented a car for other restaurant trips and excursions and found that we were just minutes from Placencia and only an hour or so from the Bocawina zip line experience. The ziplining was amazing and the drive to and from a great way to see a less touristy view of Belize. One day we drove to the ruins and had a terrific lunch at Coleman's Cafe on Main Street in the Toledo district; the food was tasty and the hospitality even better. Agua Villa is a perfect place to get away from it all when you need to, and get to it all when you want to.

“Year # 6” I recently returned from the Riviera Maya and my 6th year stay at Villas DeRosa Resort. In my reasonably priced dive package they included: airport transfers, a comfortable and clean ocean front condo, and an abundance of good food, transportation to the dive sites and some great dive guides. The common areas, pool and beach are safe and clean. The staff is friendly, flexible and willing to help. Planning year #7. dhw

“Just what we're looking for...” My Boyfriend and I were looking for a small intimate place to stay for my Birthday. And we found it at The Villas DeRosa! We stayed in a 1bd beach front condo over looking the amazing ocean below. The service was amazing! The staff is friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic! We love akumal and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Don't let the dirt road off the highway that leads to the resort fool you..it truly is a diamond in the rough. We're looking forward to our next visit.

“Great beach experience with all the conveniences.” Great location in akumal on the beach. Accommodations were spacious and prices excellent. They have a cook who will deliver meals to your own dinning room at very reasonable costs and the food is very good. The accommodations are not plush but very clean and all of the people who work there are muy simpatico.

“Absolutely Wonderful & Perfect!” I would most definitely recommend Casa Frida to anyone looking for a place to stay in Merida!My husband and I felt like Katia and her mother, Patricia, went the extra mile to meet our every need. They made my family feel at home and welcome throughout our entire stay. The house was clean, beautiful and cozy! They provide you with cookware, utensils, etc. which made my stay with 2 children a lot easier!! The aC kept us nice and cool throughout our stay, as well as the gorgeous pool in the patio. The temperature of the water was perfect, and laying in the hammock was very relaxing. The neighborhood was friendly, safe and peaceful. There are many restaurants and stores close by, as well as the Centro Historico. I would absolutely recommend Casa Frida to anyone that is looking for a vacation rental! “You don't have to die to get to heaven” Before my stay at Casa del Perro Feliz, I had never been to the Yucatan peninsula and I found the listing for the house on the internet. As you know, there can be a big difference between the experience promised in the listing and your actual stay. Everything about my 10 days at this fabulous house far exceeded my expectations. The house is spacious and sweet. Maria and Ulises, the caretakers, are dedicated and gracious. The bay is a Caribbean dream. We were there for the Christmas and new year holidays and we almost never even saw our neighbors--which meant we had the whole bay to ourselves. The nearby town of Tulum was exciting and the food was great. There are many things to see in the peninsula but, for us, the most magnificent were the cenotes. Swim in as many of them as you can. There is one 5 minutes walk from the house, but our favorite was the Grand Cenote, a few minutes drive. This was a memorable and rewarding trip for me, my wife and our 3 children. I'm saving up so we can go back.

“Great apartment!!” This place fully met all of our expectations and then some! It was very clean and had everything we possibly needed while visiting playa, from beach towels to bathroom supplies and all the kitchen appliances you could imagine. The cable tv worked great in both bedrooms and we even had hundreds of DVDs if that wasn't enough! The wifi powered three cell phones, a tablet and a laptop without slowing down. We also got as much filtered water as we wanted! The balcony was perfect for that morning cup of coffee while overlooking 26th street. The location was phenomenal and literally a hundred feet from 5th avenue but still in a more quiet part of town, away from the loud clubs so very peaceful! Lots of great restaurants within walking distance! Last thing I'll mention is that the owner, Wendy, was very responsive and helpful!

“Quit Incredible! Best stay of all in Cozumel” This house is really a treat in every way. The rooms are filled with light and air with gardens in view out each window. We spend a week here with a marvelous host named Marco. Not only was the house well equipped with every thing we needed it also offered a feel of serenity not found often in a renal home. The pool is completely private...no need for a swimming suit! We enjoyed the terrace just outside each bedroom. Each room had its own bathroom also. There are 2 bedroom in the main house with the 3rd bedroom offered in a small cottage located on the other side of the pool. The cottage gives a couple or individual real privacy and is just lovely. Marco is such a unique person offering his guest kindness and a real concern for your happiness. He is articulate, well traveled, well read, spirited with zeal for living. One could not find a better friend. He has a real sense of what a traveler needs for a perfect stay. Easy walk to several restaurants and just 2 blocks for the water, very safe feel to this neighborhood also. I for one will come back! I would not hesitate to recommend this home to any one, even those with the most discerning taste and experience.
