“smashing” last summer, we spent a few days in aix en Provence at Rachel Bizot's cottage. After a warm welcome by our host, we settled in the studio. It is well laid out and nicely decorated with all modern conveniences and equipment. Aix en Provence is pleasantly situated. It is very sunny and it is an ideal base for visiting the region.

“Charming gite in the middle of everything!” We stayed at the la maison au fond du jardin. August 11-18. This place is in the middle of everything. With only 7 days to discover Provence we needed a central location. The gite was clean, quiet and comfortable. The kitchen & dining room had everything we needed to eat-in. The bedroom & bathroom had plenty of storage space for two. The terrace overlooked the garden, our driveway and a far off neighbor (which we never saw) with only one closed window facing the gite. All other windows look out onto the yard. The yard was mostly fig & almond trees on gravel. My husband used and loved the pool. We had trouble with the wifi. But Sophie offered a solution. The owners Sophie and William are very welcoming and were magnificent hosts. They are there if you need help but don't hover. Their home is behind the gite and not seen from any room or window of the gite. The pictures on their web site are very accurate. The very small town of Paradou has a grocer, boulangerie, butcher, post office and restaurant. The boulangerie had the best breads ever. The butcher had great meats and pre-made lasagna. The grocer had all we needed. We didn't try the restaurant so can't comment. There are larger towns with cafes and shops within 5-10 minutes.

“Paradise in Provence” My husband and I stayed at the Macks' charming gite twice, in august 2010 and 2012. The beautiful grounds, a great location and the Macks' warmth and hospitality made our visits extremely enjoyable. The cottage is modern with all the appliances and amenities you could want, including wifi and a stand up shower. The property is private and safe -- there is a wall that goes around it and you enter via a gate. The location is great for exploring the region, though some of our favorite afternoons were spent relaxing on lounge chairs beneath the oak trees in the large garden. And it doesn't get much better than enjoying dinner outside under the pergola with tomatoes, eggplant and basil picked from the Macks' bountiful vegetable garden. Truly paradise in Provence.

“Beautiful cottage!” My boyfriend and I spent a fabulous week in the village of Cucuron in July 2012. Le Point is such a beautiful, quirky little cottage. We absolutely loved the decor and design, it was comfortable and had everything we could have needed. The kitchen was fully equipped and the internet radio and free wi-fi was a nice touch. The little terrace was lovely and the cottage itself was extremely cool even in mid July! The village of Cucuron was perfect, several bars and restaurants and a great market on Tuesday morning and Friday night. All in all, a wonderful experience - we will definitely be returning to Le Point, we didn't want to leave!!
