“Charming gite in the middle of everything!” We stayed at the la maison au fond du jardin. August 11-18. This place is in the middle of everything. With only 7 days to discover Provence we needed a central location. The gite was clean, quiet and comfortable. The kitchen & dining room had everything we needed to eat-in. The bedroom & bathroom had plenty of storage space for two. The terrace overlooked the garden, our driveway and a far off neighbor (which we never saw) with only one closed window facing the gite. All other windows look out onto the yard. The yard was mostly fig & almond trees on gravel. My husband used and loved the pool. We had trouble with the wifi. But Sophie offered a solution. The owners Sophie and William are very welcoming and were magnificent hosts. They are there if you need help but don't hover. Their home is behind the gite and not seen from any room or window of the gite. The pictures on their web site are very accurate. The very small town of Paradou has a grocer, boulangerie, butcher, post office and restaurant. The boulangerie had the best breads ever. The butcher had great meats and pre-made lasagna. The grocer had all we needed. We didn't try the restaurant so can't comment. There are larger towns with cafes and shops within 5-10 minutes.

“A relaxing well balanced holiday with many pleasant people exper” Our stay in Paradou was an experience we thoroughly enjoyed. Paradou was an excellent base from which to explore Provence, as we anticipated it would be. We found the apartment,in the early French style, very comfortable and met all our needs. The highlight for us was that our stay coincided with the Paradou annual festival, which included the running of the bulls and various cultural events including the odd glass of red wine. The people were welcoming and friendly. Sophie was a great help and we enjoyed meeting her and the family. David and Di Sydney australia

“a perfect paradise right in the middle of it all” We absolutely loved our experience! Jasmine, the owner, was lovely right from the moment we booked and was available throughout our stay for anything we needed. Had we stayed longer we would have loved to have taken advantage of all the great suggestions and tips she had to enjoy Provence. The owners were also great with our dog, who after spending the previous 4 nights in hotel rooms really loved roaming around the olive grove and staring into the pool. The cottage itself is beautiful- very light and bright- just what you would hope for when staying in Provence. And, it was actually bigger than the photos or videos made it out to be. We only stayed for two days, but we could only imagine how wonderful it would be to spend at least a whole week here in the spring, summer, or fall. We loved all the windows and glass sliding doors. It was so open. Also- extremely clean, well-equiped kitchen, and forever-hot water heater, which in many apartment rentals you don't find, no matter how nice they are in the photos! Looking on the map, it may seem like this place is a little farther from your major Provence attractions, but it's actually perfectly situated for visiting everything- Arles, Nimes, Avignon, Uzes, Orange, etc. Oh yes! and the Pont du Gard of course. After touring around France by car you will really appreciate the parking too. In short, we couldn't be happier! Thank you for everything!
