“Outstanding Vacation Rental” Our extended family (22 people - 13A/9K) had a great week at Saddle Beach. The house was beautiful and in very good condition. The option of being in the pool or the river during the day was wonderful. The house was clean and well furnished. The dining room table and table on the porch provided plenty of seating for meals. There was plenty of hot water for showers and clean-up after meals. The pool was clean and the river was awesome, with a gradual slope that was perfect for kids and adults. We used the crab traps provided and caught 2 dozen crabs that made a great contribution to dinner on Friday. Crabbing was best by the dock. We caught all but 3 crabs there, rather than out closer to the middle of the river. The AC on the ground floor stopped working on Tuesday, but one call to the owner and the repair team was on-site in less than 2 hours. The issue was resolved before noon on Wednesday. We have been renting vacation properties for years and issues crop up from time to time. We appreciated the quick response and resolution. The one recommendation we will make is to bring bug spray (mosquitos and horse flies). We anticipated it being right on the river, but if you haven't had that experience, you need to be prepared.

“Great accommodation with lovely outdoor pool for children” Great location. Good kitchen facilities with useful washing machine. Food Lion less than 5 minutes away made breakfast easy. Easy access to main road with restaurants etc. 15 mins to colonial Williamsburg and then less than 30 to Jamestown and Yorktown. Helpful reception and free racket hire for tennis courts. All round a great place to stay with young and older children. Everyone friendly and everything very clean. Kids loved slides and basketball hoops in the pools and that made the holiday for us.

“I would stay here again.” Unit wasn't as clean as it should be. Stains on toilet where it screws into toilet. Spider webs in dining room chandelier. Dusty furniture. My opinion is that the cleaning staff rushes to clean the units and doesn't take time to clean thoroughly. However, this will not prevent future stays. I will just specify at time of reservation that I would like a throughly cleaved unit.

“Pleasant” Kingsgate is an original Fairfield resort, not Wyndham. That means some of the luxuries you may be use to at a Wyndham are missing. However, do not let this fool you. For Williamsburg, this is an excellent place to stay. It is central to almost everything...Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Colonial Williamsburg about 1 mile away, shopping is 5 minutes. The location cannot be beat. There is entertainment on property, indoor pool, outdoor pool, putt putt, tennis, playground, restaurant, and pool bar. If you are expecting extreme luxury, this is not it. It is not a Bonnet Creek. You have to go to Governor's Green for that and it is not even up to that level. This is our second stay at this resort and it is worth everything we pay to stay for 6 nights (less than $100 per night for the week). We will stay here again when we return for another visit.

“Convenient, comfortable vacation spot” Our stay at Wyndham Kingsgate Resort got off to a bumpy start. We arrived at 3:00 and checked in. Were told our room would be ready at 4:00 and we would get a call. At 4:30, after no call, we checked back with the front desk and were told the room was not ready. Since check in was supposed to be at 4:00 we questioned why it was taking so long. We ended up standing in the lobby until about 5:30 as only two chairs were available. Never did get a phone call and finally tracked down a manager who had us on our way with keys in hand in less than five minutes. That being said, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The resort was very close to all the sites we wanted to visit and the price was right. We would probably stay there again, barring the issue with checking in and losing an hour and a half of valuable vacation time with nothing but a "sorry, wasn't our fault".
