“Peaceful and tranquil” Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners of the cottage, lovely people, they gave us a guided tour of the premises and left in the kitchen was a bottle of wine and chocolates, a lovely thought. The house was very comfortable, spacious, home from home, ideal for a large family, pets are welcomed with open arms. Linen provided in abundance, conservatory overlooks wonder views of the forest like setting, lots of ground to the property, all round a fabulous place for a holiday. The location is great as a starting place to explore Cornwall, if you don't mind walking, there is a nice walk down to the village shops, pub which serves very good food, supermarkets are but a short ride away. Restaurants, places to visit are easily reached from here, great as a base. The house is full of games for children, if you are a book worm, there are loads of books to read. The kitchen is well equipment, AGa stove takes a little getting use to if not used before, there is also a convensional cooker in the utility room, you couldn't want for anything else. The whole holiday was fantastic, the only minor dislike about the property is that the kitchen is a little on the dark side if the sun is shining into the conservatory, other than that there is nothing to be found fault with this property what so every, plus it is being extended to cater for even bigger families. Ground floor facilities would be ideal for someone who has difficulty with negotiating stairs, albeit not steep stairs, very slight climb. It also holds a small gym upstairs for those who are fitness freaks and miss their daily workout. You wouldn't wish for more.

“Lovely holiday experience in Cornwall.” All our family had a great time spent down South. Accommodation was ideal for all of us and also for different times of the day. We had everything available to us in the kitchen and living room was very cosy and spacious. It was a great location for visiting places of interest and also quite. I would come back again to the same cottage and recommend it to friends as well.

“Fantastic, relaxing, superb location and wonderful apartment” We had the best holiday in this lovely apartment in St Newlyn East. This is the perfect place for families with young children as you have full use of the park facilities. Our son loved watching the trains getting ready every morning. The apartment is fantastic with everything you need in there. It's in a lovely part of the country, very quiet, wonderful views and is very spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Very central to a lot of other places in Cornwall that are great to visit. Our son can't wait until his next visit there.

“West Country Wonders” Good service from start to finish. Home was beautifully decorated and nice and central for sight seeing. National Trust properties close by, nice walks, beautiful coastline and interesting towns. Only blip was not being able to find the house easily-perhaps instructions could be improved? We couldn't see the name 'The Old Smithy' anywhere. Otherwise 10/10.

“A lovely well-equipped cottage with a garden which overlooks the” The owners of the cottage live next door and were very friendly and extremely helpful.On our arrival,we found the cottage well-stocked with provisions (tea,coffee,bread,cereals etc.)The cottage has plenty of car parking space and a really good LCD television set with a DVD library.The only difficulty we had was in finding the cottage as the instructions we were given are rather 'sketchy'. We thought these should be rather more detailed.The cottage is conveniently located reasonably close to the town centre and roads to the major holiday centres.A large asda supermarket is also very accesible. Although the weather was a bit mixed,we really enjoyed our stay and had plenty of time to enjoy the facilities of the cottage,particularly the garden where we had quite a few picnics. The service we received from the Syke's management when booking the holiday was excellent-friendly and efficient.

“Lovely well situated and modern cottage.” We found the position of an Kres ideal. The welcome was very warm and friendly from the owners and the cottage had every modern convenience one could wish for. It was very comfortable and had easy access to the village of Mevagissey and was not far from all the main roads to the rest of Cornwall. The nearby gardens of Helligon were wonderful and a treat not to be missed.

“Excellent Location for touring Cornwall” A well presented bungalow which was ideally located for touring Cornwall. Comfortable and warm with everything in that you needed. Owner met us on arrival and was very pleasant and gave us some useful information with regard to local interests and where to visit etc.

“Beautiful views across the valley.” We had a wonderful holiday, in a well presented, well designed cottage. Not too far from a convenience store, serious shopping complex at Fraddon within 5 miles. Lots of interesting places to visit, and the coastline an easy hop away. We will return.

“Perfect getaway.” We spent 4 nights at Wheal Rose in February during a week where we had some severe storms across the country. Once inside the cottage however we were warm and cosy, and felt cosseted from the outside world. The facilities were ideal for a couple, though the option of a foldaway bed in the living/dining/kitchen offers flexibility for a third adult/child. The equipment provided for self-catering is excellent, and far exceeds the amount normally allocated for a property designed for 3 people, resulting in guests being able to put the dishwasher on when it was full rather than after each meal. The property was extremely clean and sufficient space given to drying of clothing which can get wet in the showers that blow through. We hope to stay here again later in the year.
