“No question!” Great place to stay in Venice Beach area. Its close to the night life areas if thats what you are looking for. Short drive or skate to the beach. Very close to Santa Monica area as well. Beautiful place in cultisac, so there is minimum traffic. The beds are gigantic and confortable. I didn't believe the price at first, but its true. The Ella House in Venice Beach

Los Angeles house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Perfect blend of feeling at home and on vacation!” My husband and I rented the Ella for a short week while we were in town for a wedding. The owners were super accommodating - and were very easy to work with. They have a lovely little binder with maps and recommendations on what to see/do, where to eat, shop, etc. We loved that it had a garage for our rental car; a washer and dryer; every amenity you could need and such a cool outdoor area. The location has to be the best part though; close to the Farmer's Market, Abbott Kinney, freeways and some cool restaurants within walking distance. Not to mention it's located quietly in the neighborhood behind Costco, In and Out Burger, and a mall! We could be to Santa Monica in 6 minutes - to Marina Del Ray in 4. It was an awesome stay and the house is decorated very nicely. My husband and I kept saying - "it's nice to feel like we're at home...but it still feels like vacation!" It would be a dream to just move in :) :) We didn't bring our dog - and while I am unsure if they even allowed them - the outdoor space would have been ideal for someone traveling with a dog(s) as it is all gated in privately. I'm sure our dog would have loved it as much as us!

About Hermosa Beach

The beachfront city of Hermosa Beach in Los Angeles County, California, is small, friendly and has a typically Californian laid-back surfer vibe.

Great for a relaxing vacation, you’ll find over 450 beachfront rentals available on FlipKey – which will you choose?

About Hermosa Beach, California

Located in South Bay, Hermosa Beach is bordered by two other beachfront cities, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. The lively nightlife, beautiful beaches and chilled vibe here attracts visitors throughout the year, although you may be surprised to hear that summer isn’t always the most popular time to visit.

Whilst you’re here, stop off at the Italian gelato café on Hermosa Avenue, serving over 200 flavors of the best Italian gelato in town! This is tanned, toned California, and healthy food is most definitely on the menu – you’ll find organic, vegetarian and vegan cafes serving a range of raw and healthy options like raw hemp shakes. For people watching, head for one of the outdoor patios at restaurants on The Strand, where you can dine on fresh seafood.

What to do

The main attractions here are the beach and the pedestrian walkway known as The Strand. This is the place to soak up California’s beach culture. Rent a bike or roller blades and head up The Strand to Santa Monica, relax on the beach, enjoy a game of volleyball or rent a surfboard from the shops near Pier Avenue and catch some waves. You can even go fishing off Hermosa Beach Pier.

Shopping on Pier Avenue for casual clothes and beach gear is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon, and you’ll also find some affordable cafes here for lunch.

As the sun sets, why not catch a show at the Comedy And Magic Club? Jay Leno is a regular performer on Sunday nights, and you might be lucky enough to see him in action!

Top Hermosa Beach, California travel tips

Avoid coming here in early summer when ‘June Gloom’ sees foggy days which can last well into July.

The nearest airport is Los Angeles International, just seven miles from the city center.

On Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend, Fiesta Hermosa takes place, Southern California’s largest arts and crafts far. With live music, ethnic food, a Kiddie Carnival, pony rides and over 270 stalls with handicrafts, art and jewelry, Hermosa Beach can get pretty busy!

Hermosa Beach is the ultimate laid-back California seaside vacation for families and couples, so why not search for your oceanfront home or condo just steps from the beach with FlipKey?

Across the Street from the Beach Beautiful and New
Comfortable quiet and great location

The location is perfect as it is so close to the beach. The unit is new and is nicely furnished with everything you need. Being centered between either Manhattan and Hermosa Beach made for a nice 15 minute walk to either pier and all the shops and restaurants. Although there is no a/C, the ceiling fans and lots of windows made it easy to circulate fresh or cool air so that it was fine. There is a small grocery store about 3 blocks away which made it easy to buy staples and the couple of restaurants close by were ok, but the better places were closer to the piers. Overall, we really enjoyed this stay.see more
