About Huntington Beach

Known throughout the world as "Surf City," Huntington Beach, CA is where much of the surfing culture in the US originated from. Located in Southern California, Huntington Beach has great weather year round and overwhelmingly hospitable locals. The majority of the attractions and premiere shopping and nightlife fall in the areas of Downtown, Beach Boulevard, Oak View, and the Old Town.

While you're in Huntington Beach, be sure to make time for some of these must-see destinations and attractions:

  • Go Surfing: There are plenty of surfing shops along the boardwalk where you can rent a board for the day for just $15.
  • Main Street: This primary street in Huntington Beach plays host to many of the premiere restaurants and shopping areas in the city.
  • Huntington Beach Pier: Besides the beach itself, this is the second most popular attraction in the area.
  • Bolsa Chica Wetlands: The largest unspoiled coastal wetlands in all of California, plenty of migrating birds stop and nest in the area.
  • Explore the nightlife: Main Street has many bars that are packed until the wee hours of the morning.

Many of the biggest events and festivals in the city fall during the summer months. Some of them include the Surf Film Festival in July, the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Championships in August, and the U.S. Open Surf Championships in August. Luckily, no matter what time of year you visit, it's easy to find a vacation rental in Huntington Beach. Choose from a variety of homes including spacious condos, luxury villas, and oceanfront properties.
