Lake Tahoe's *Sunset Chalet* - Panoramic Views !!!

Kings Beach chalet

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 6

“Cozy Sunset Chalet” My family and I have stayed at the Sunset Chalet in North Lake Tahoe twice in the past year. Both trips were fantastic! We absolutely love the warmth and coziness the chalet provides. The views are breathtaking from both the first and second floors. The neighborhood is quiet and clean, and the location of the chalet works well for my family's needs. There are so many little amenities already available at the chalet which is an added bonus. We hope to return again and again to this spectacular spot!

Sky Rocks

Kings Beach house

5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Great location, great old Tahoe house” We had an amazing time at Sky Rocks and can't wait to go back. The only disappointment occurred when we arrived because the pictures make it look like the property is lake side. It is actually up the hill and requires a ~200 yard walk down a path to the water. The pool is a nice amenity, but is also a walk down a paved road (~150-200 yards). Also, the gas grill didn't work. Other than that, it is a great place to hang out with your family/friends in a rustic Tahoe house.

Four Summits

Carnelian Bay house

4 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 10

“Annual 4th of July getaway” My family has been spending 4th of July in the Sierras for decades (either Donner Lake or Tahoe) and over the past several years we have been renting in Tahoe. Four Summits is right up there with some of our favorite cabins, and I would definitely recommend it. However, I would suggest adding foam pads to the beds, as they were all too firm for our group, and a shade umbrella on the side deck is a must, since it gets sun most of the day. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of linens, and the home is very comfortable and is updated just enough. We might be back next year!

Agatam Retreat

Tahoe Vista house

3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Great Vacation House” Agatam Retreat is a lovely cabin, well located on a quiet loop street in Tahoe Vista. We could walk to two near by beaches and several restaurants. Kings Beach is a short 5 minute drive in to the North and Tahoe City about 8 miles to the South. The house itself is open concept upstairs, well furnished with a beautiful kitchen, livingroom and dining area, and a great deck across the front of the house. We sat out there several evenings watching the sky turn pink and grilling our dinner. Two bedrooms and two baths are upstairs. Downstairs is a cozy den and another bedroom and bath. We didn't use the downstairs, but it would have been perfect for an extended family with children. The kitchen is very well equipped. I think you could cook Thanksgiving there and do just fine. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will request this house again for a vacation.

“A place to bring friends together” My friends and I stayed at Tahoe Family Donner Home and had a GREAT time! We came up for Tough Mudder so we wanted a nice, relaxing place to stay which is exactly what we did at this home. It was a beautiful, cozy home that had everything to offer. If you are looking for a charming home to stay at with a few friends or family, I would most definitely recommend staying here!! Thanks to the owners who let us enjoy their home. :)

Incline Village house

4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Convenient location, great amenities and very helpful owner!” We stayed here with a group of friends for a ski weekend in January. The owner was very helpful in providing not only instructions for arrival, checkout and our stay, but also provided nice personal touches such as restaurant recommendations. We skied at Northstar Resort, which was about 15-20 minutes away. There was plenty of space in the house and it was nicely furnished. The huge TV in the living room was perfect for watching football after a hard day of skiing, and the couches were very comfortable. We loved the pellet stove in the common room, too. The owner provided lots of extra towels, which was perfect because we used the hot tub needed them! Most places I've stayed at seem to forget that guests go through towels so quickly! Also a plus, the owner has a good variety of spices, oils, and cooking necessities in the kitchen that he allows guests to use, which is uncommon around Tahoe but very helpful. This is a perfect house for a weekend in Tahoe. It has enough rooms to provide privacy, but a great communal area for folks to hang out. There was plenty of parking (1 car in garage, 2 in driveway, 2 on the street) even when it was snowing out. The owner's accessibility are also a huge plus! It was nice to know that if a problem arose, we could contact him so easily. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

WONDERFUL MOUNTAIN CABIN AT A GREAT PRICE!

Truckee log cabin

4 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 9

“Sweet mountain cabin in a nice quiet location.” We rented this home for one of our summer get aways with our blended crew/family. Everyone had a fantastic experience. Its location is just outside of town in a very nice and peaceful area called Glenshire. The owner is very nice and accommodating. I would recommend this home and would rent it again- maybe when we go up to board and ski in winter.

Northstar Ski Trails Area 1BR Condo

Truckee apartment

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Comfy Condo with a perfect location” This is a beautiful and comfy condo with a fantastic location. Just a short walk from the restaurants, ice skating ring and all the stores, it is perfect for a family of four or just a romantic getaway for two. Its clean, practical, well appointed and has all the amenities expected including TV, DVD and WiFi. Everything worked flawlessly. The condo is well suited for winter as well as summer vacations. During winter, with its ski in/ski out access, we could literally walk out of the condo and get on the ski trail in the morning and ski back to the condo at the end of the day. We loved the foosball table. We also stay in the condo during the summer and enjoyed it very much. Perfect for serious mountain biking, hiking, walking or just relaxing. The rec center, access included with the condo is within a short walking distance and is fantastic for adults and kids. We loved it, will go back again and would highly recommend it. Thank you for sharing your condo with us.

Spectacular Lake & Ski View

Incline Village house

3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Top of the World” We only stayed here 2 nights, but would have loved a longer visit. The house is in good shape and the views are spectacular, as advertised. Kitchen was fine, and master suite was very comfortable, with extra space for our 10-mo old to sleep in the (provided!) Pack-n-play. The baby items provided were a huge help, as we traveled by air. Suzannah was extremely attentive and responsive to my questions and made sure we had a comfortable stay. Location is great, but just expect a bit of a windy drive up and down to/from Incline Village. The only reason I gave service 4 stars is because of a few very minor points of confusion related to garage parking (not available), changes to wifi, and having to take out the trash, but Suzannah kindly explained these things to me, or did her best to clarify any confusion. Older folks might like having a bedroom on the main floor, and there are no steps unless you use the upstairs master suite or sauna/workout room. I'd highly recommend this place to a friend. Would love to come back for a snowy or summertime visit.

Big Springs at Northstar

Truckee house

6 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 13

“Wonderful home for large group.” The house was wonderful, loved the different living spaces, sleeping spaces. The kitchen and living room made a great gathering space. Beautiful area and the bus made it so easy to get to the slopes. The only thing that we found we did not have was bar soap in any of the bathrooms. Liquid hand soap at the sinks is not enough. Also the bear bin was not empty and the garbage was an issue. All in all, we loved the the house and it was perfect for our group and stay.

Creek Side at Alpine Meadows

South Lake Tahoe house

5 bedrooms / 5 bathrooms / sleeps 11

“Perfect for Large Gathering” We wanted a comfortable place for 8 people, with room for Thanksgiving dinner for 12 people. Creekside fit both requirements. The home is beautiful, spacious and clean. The highlight is the "Big Room" which consists of living room, dining room and kitchen all connected together in one uninterrupted area. This layout was perfect for Thanksgiving. The dining table seats 14. Guests who prepared food in the kitchen could interact with guests in the living room. We highly recommend Creekside for large social gatherings. All of the rooms have private bathrooms and are spotlessly clean.

Red Cedar

Tahoe City house

3 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 9

“New year Family Vacation” We enjoyed our stay at Red Cedar, 5 adults and 1 child. The Tahoe Getaway staff were very professional and made the reservation process very easy. The house was comfortable and as the description stated. Very close to shopping, restaurants and the resorts. The Beds were comfortable with quality bedding. If I had anything to say that could make our week nicer it would be the Garage access. No codes for door opener, so you have to open the door from inside the garage, go upstairs to lock up house, Reverse when coming home. Also if you like to cook, you may want to bring a couple of kitchen knives as all the knives in the kitchen are serrated.

Fawn View

Tahoe Vista house

5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Great Stay!” This place was perfect for a weekend ski trip! only 15 min from Northsar, and a cozy place to return home to with the hot tub and fireplace. The kitchen has everything so cooking dinner was really easy. Couple downsides: 1) we could not regulate the temperature in the bedrooms very well. We only found one thermostat for the whole cabin- so the master bedroom ended up being about 10 degrees warmer than the living room while the guests downstairs were a little chilly. 2) the upstairs master bedroom is right off the kitchen and you can hear everything that goes on. So long as everyone is on the same sleeping schedule, not a problem.

Pioneer Lake View Retreat

Tahoe City house

4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 11

“Very confortable, spacious and clean...” I just came back from a week vacation on Lake Tahoe and Pioneer Retreat did the job flawlessly. The house is big enough for 12 people, it's well equipped and it was spotless, like really-really clean, no dust and the Jacuzzi and BBQ are a big plus. The property administrators (Tahoe Gateways) did an excellent job sending information about restaurants, transportation and general rules regarding the house. I've been renting homes for vacation purposes for more than 15 years in Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, L.A., Big Bear and San Diego and this was, by far, the best experience. Hope to visit Tahoe again... and soon. Only 3 cons (livable): 1. Looks like it's time to replace the towels 2. The water heater is a bit small for 12 people, expect to run out of hot water if some of your travel mates take long showers 3. The internet is as slow as the slowest internet café, even the speed on a Mcdonalds is faster

About Kings Beach

The beautiful granite peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains rise gloriously above the crystal blue waters of Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in the United States. Known for its pristine wilderness, natural beauty, and ample ski resorts, the Lake Tahoe region has become one of the top destinations in the state. Located on the state line between California and Nevada, Kings Beach is one of the best stretches of shoreline along Tahoe's shores.

In the summer, Kings Beach Recreation Area is always bustling with local sunbathers and visiting families. Live music and the summer farmer's market make the mood even more cheery. Beyond the beach, the Sierra Nevada is filled with nature preserves and excellent hiking trails. During the warm and sunny summer season, Lake Tahoe is a perfect place for a day hike or a mountain biking tour. Take the whole family on a canoe trip down the Truckee River, or sign up for a horseback riding adventure along the trail. Enjoy vistas of the surrounding mountains from a sunset boat cruise on the lake, or spend the day swimming or fishing at one of Tahoe's picturesque beaches. Golfers can head to the neighboring Brockway Golf Club, among many other local courses.

Tahoe is one of the most popular ski resorts in the United States. If you are staying in Kings Beach during the winter, you can easily spend the day at one of the North Shore's world-class ski mountains, including famous names like Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Northstar-at-Tahoe. These beautiful resorts have miles of downhill ski and snowboard trails, views of the lake, and snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and sledding courses, as well as ice skating rinks.

If you plan to visit Kings Beach in Lake Tahoe, be sure to enjoy:

  • Kings Beach Recreation Area: A great place for a summer picnic, this rocky beach has a playground and volleyball courts, as well as public barbeques.
  • Tahoe City: At the headwaters of the Truckee River, the cute town of Tahoe City is a great place to wander around shops and galleries, or to get a snack at a local coffee shop.
  • Northstar-at-Tahoe: Northstar is a family-oriented ski and snowboard resort, with a snow adventure park designed specifically for kids.
  • Squaw Valley: For bunny hill beginners to expert skiers, Squaw Valley is a winter sport paradise, with miles of downhill trails and cross-country courses.
  • Stateline Point Lookout Station: Just above Kings Beach and Crystal Bay, this lookout offers some of the nicest vistas in Lake Tahoe.
  • Carnelian Bay: Just down the road from Kings Beach, this large cove is a popular spot for kayaking and boating in the summer.

This winter, look for a vacation rental nestled in the beautiful pine forests near Kings Beach in Lake Tahoe. A wooden cabin or comfortable condo near one of the famous ski resorts is the perfect destination for the whole family. For a luxury summer trip, book a spacious villa in the pristine wilderness of the Sierra Nevada.

Remodeled Kings Beach Rental Cabin - Walk to Beach, Hot Tub
A Cabin To Call Home

This was our first time renting a cabin at the lake. We had stayed in hotels in the past but due to the "dog friendly" nature, it suited our family perfectly. If you're here for a few days, you feel like it's your own vacation retreat so it's perfect for relaxing or as a starting point for any activities you might have in mind at the lake. The people at agate Bay Realty couldn't have been nicer throughout the process. One tip however, be sure to look in all the drawers and cubby holes if you need something as we found things we needed hidden away.see more

If only my grandparents had built this home...

Sky Rocks was the perfect location for our large group of old friends. The home is large, comfortable and very well equipped. To me it was the perfect "old Tahoe" retreat. We were 100% satisfied with both the property and the property managers from beginning to end. Thank you. … see more
