“Beautifull home away from home” Beautiful and spacious gated condo located steps away from a private beach, also has pool and volleyball courts. The condo consists of 3 bedrooms with comfortable beds and pillows, well equipped kitchen and large dining table, 2 bathrooms, one with a bidet, as well as a washer and dryer. There is a furnished spacious patio which overlooks the ocean and a stairway to a large furnished terrace, perfect for complete relaxation. The owner left some treats upon arrival, left very helpful recommendations for exploration and dining in the area. We felt very safe, security guard on duty 24/7. We would rent this condo again without any reservation.

“Excellent Group Getaway Spot” We stayed here recently during a company retreat to Puerto Rico and used this house as our main gathering spot. Diana was extremely accommodating and helpful/ always available to answer questions. The home was beautiful and spacious with many different areas for group gatherings. The house is fully stocked with games and towels and anything you could think of. Diana recommended us a chef who cooked for us the entire weekend we were there. All in all, it was a phenomenal experience. I would absolutely recommend!

Loiza apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Clean apartment in safe area, lovely hosts, beautiful beach, convenient to all area attractions” I stayed here Thanksgiving week 2014 with my husband and 3 children: 12, 14, and 16. We had the most wonderful experience and would gladly return. I am happy to recommend it to you. Everything you read in the other reviews about the hosts, Kevin and Madelin, is true. They are incredibly friendly, responsive, and responsible people. I had corresponded with Madelin through FlipKey, but it was Kevin who met us at the car rental place and guided us to the apartment, which is situated about 25 minutes east of the airport in a small town called Loiza. As Kevin explained to me that first evening, there are 3 ways to get there, and during the course of our stay we tried all 3. The coastal road (the straightest shot from the airport) is best suited for daytime driving, especially if it is your first time in the area, but it became my favorite way to get to and from San Juan. Anyway, Kevin was great about showing us the apartment that first evening, telling us how everything worked, giving us some helpful tips, then leaving us to explore on our own. We were pleased to see that groceries, including milk, juice, bread, cheese, and ham had been provided for us. It made us feel very welcome! For the remainder of the trip, they remained very easy to communicate with, responding to texts immediately. That meant a lot to me. About the apartment: It is very modern and immaculately clean. Everything we needed that week was there: cooking implements, sheets, towels, beach paraphernalia, detergents. It felt very comfortable and convenient. The place is not big, but felt perfect for our family of 5. There are two balconies and when you keep their sliding doors open, you get a nice cross breeze in the apartment and can enjoy the sounds of the surrounding nature in the evening. We did not need to turn on the air conditioning a single time. The apartment is in a fairly extensive, gated condo complex, which was quite empty of others for the week that we were there. The apartments seem mostly owned by folks who live in the city and who either rent them or use them on the weekends. (Things were a little livelier there on the weekend, we noticed). It felt a little strange to be there (almost) by ourselves, but it was something we quickly got used to and enjoyed. It was quiet! And it felt very safe, which I came to appreciate as well. The guards and other staff of the condo complex were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking, too. Now for the best thing: the beach! The apartment complex has its own stretch of beach which was beautiful and very clean. We hung out there for several hours every day. The tide was high most of the times we were there (low tides were 7pm and 5 am or so), and the waves were quite high. Good for romping, but not dangerous. The water was warm and clean. Sand was very soft. And the views were truly lovely. The apartment was a good choice for the beach alone. A note: you need a key to get to the beach, as well as to the pools on the property. You do need to keep an eye on that key! The guards come around and close the gates if they see them standing open. It was explained to us that it wasn't safe to leave the beach gate open for outsiders to wander in. Indeed, one evening we "lost" a pair of shoes on the beach to someone who apparently needed them more than we did. We had come to Puerto Rico with the idea of exploring, and we did! The apartment was perfectly located for this. The rainforest is really close, and so are the ferries to Culebra and Vieques. We went to Viequies for the day one day, taking the car on the ferry. Keep in mind that a spot on the ferries needs to be reserved ahead of time, so call as soon as you know when and where you want to go. We made our reservation the night before, and were told we were lucky because they sell out. San Juan (incl. the charming Old San Juan) is very close as well. One day we made a rather ill-fated trip to the West Coast We did not have a proper map, and kept getting lost. Then the kids got hungry. Then we got lost again. And again. By the time we got to Rincon it was almost evening. Moral of the story: buy a map before you come to PR. There are no maps to be bought anywhere, only simplistic maps that you can get for free, but no real, geographically accurate maps to be found. Or do as modern man does, travel with a GPS. We did not. Back to the apartment: There are some Western style supermarkets if you go east on the coastal road (128), then onto route 3. But there are some small local grocery stores if you go in the opposite direction, toward San Juan, including fruit and vegetable stands on the side of the road. I wish I had discovered those sooner. On the whole: would I do this again? Yes, and I hope I will one day. Would I recommend it to a friend? YES? To an enemy: NO! This is too nice for my enemies. Thank you again, Kevin and Madelin, for lending us your lovely apartment!

Ocean views and privacy--Casa Estrella awaits!!

Isla de Vieques house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Best experience yet!” This was our second trip to Vieques. On our first trip, we loved the island, we didn't love our rental house. Details were overlooked (dripping coffeemaker, no can opener) and everything was worn out. Definitely not the case with Casa Estrella - this house has truly been a labor of love and no detail has been overlooked. We loved staying here. The house is exactly what you need in a beach house, the roof deck was fantastic and the location was great. We have found our base for our annual trek to Vieques. (We have two young kids - 4 and 7- and the house was great for them too.) Highly recommended!!!

“Great Villa in a beautiful tranquil location!!” We just got back from a week in Vieques. We loved this villa for its tranquil setting and excellent interior/exterior living spaces! The views are spectacular and the house has every amenity you may want or need! The breezes will keep you very comfortable and the bugs away, which is great! I would also like to add that the beds are very comfortable, which I find as a frequent traveler is rare in a rental home for some reason. Both the owner and property manager are excellent to work with and extremely responsive. There was even a bottle of wine waiting for us in the fridge! The location is a quick 5-10 minute drive down to the beaches some excellent restaurants. I have been to Vieques several times now in the last few years and this by far is the best place we have rented.

"Best Relaxing Ocean View on Town"

Fajardo apartment

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Awesome condo for a week's rental!” We rented the condo for a week and had an amazing time! Tony (owner) was extremely helpful with the reservations, and was extremely responsive to any requests/concerns we had while we were there -- he did a great job making sure our stay was to our liking. The condo felt like home from our very first night! Everything was in great condition, and the apartment was well-stocked with towels, linens, games, sports equipment, and even some spices to cook with. The kitchen was extremely modern and both the washer/dryer worked well. The balcony provided us with an amazing view of the bay (we were able to watch the sunrise right from the balcony!) and we used the hammock and rocking chairs extensively! We very much enjoyed renting the condo, as opposed to staying in a hotel, because it allowed us the flexibility to cook some of our own meals. Each of the bedrooms has an aC unit, which was a nice touch after spending a long day exploring the island. The Penamar Ocean Club is located in a convenient location and has a beautiful campus - landscaping is very nicely done. We used the infinity pool, the smaller pool with the waterslide, and the tennis court all the time! Fajardo is a nice town and is located 45 min east of San Juan, 25 min away from El Yunque, 20 min from Luquillo Beach (maybe the nicest beach we visited during our entire trip), and 5 min from the Ferry port to Vieques. Just a heads up, please look up and book any activities you may wish to do (especially kayaking in Biobay) on your vacation several weeks in advance because everything will be booked!! We wished we had known this before our trip.

“Beautiful!” The location was perfect. Walk out the door to the beach which was great for snorkling and walking. BEACHFRONT,QUIET, BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE

Rio Grande apartment

“Beautiful condo and beach!” The pictures that are posted don't do this place justice! The condo is just perfect for a couple or those with a few children. It was very clean and beautifully decorated inside. We really enjoyed watching the tame birds come up to us, and the lizards and iguanas in the yard. The building itself is located right next to the beach. It's only a minute walk to the beach! We pretty much had our own private beach everyday. I don't know where everyone was, considering it was spring break. If you like peace, quiet, and just pure relaxation without a lot of tourists or spring-breakers, this is the place for you. It was so nice to sleep with the windows open at night and hear the ocean waves. The weather was so perfect, we never had to put the air on. Maria, the owner, communicated well and was accommodating. The El Yunque rainforest is only a 10-minute drive and is very worth the trip! I would say that the only negatives were that the restaurants nearby were overpriced with poor quality food. The food was extremely bland but edible. I don't know if we just hit the wrong restaurants or if "Authentic Puerto Rican" food always tastes like this. The only restaurant remotely good was "Ritchie's," which was completely open and located on a hilltop overlooking the ocean. It was absolutely gorgeous, and the service was great. Another negative was that there was no where to go in this area for night life, such as nice outdoor bars or beach tiki bars and grills. We just kept wondering where everyone was considering it was spring break. Perhaps this isn't the happening part of the island. We even drove down the street to the Wyndham Hotel and Casino, and there was hardly anyone there either. All in all, the cute condo and stunning, quiet beach and beautiful weather was worth the price of the trip! Would highly recommend this place if that's what you're looking for.

Private Pool Bar with Panoramic Caribbean View! A/C WiFi Bonita Vista Vieques!

Isla de Vieques cottage

1 bedroom / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 2

“A Great Escape! Private, with Views to Die for!” I want to add my chorus to all the positive comments. Bonita Vista received a coveted "5" from me (I don't give many) mainly because of the pool bar area. The view was gorgeous, it was a very private area, and we enjoyed the ability to eat outside at the bar, or just lounge on the comfy chairs. Soooo relaxing! Everything about the stay was positive. The cassita was more than adequate (although a microwave would have been nice). The bed was perfect and we slept like logs. Hot water immediately in the shower - wow, THAT was a welcome surprise - and the a/c worked great. The wifi was frustratingly come and go so if you depend on it for work or staying connected - this probably is not a good place for you. For us, it was absolutely fine as it appeared just often enough to respond to critical emails and to post my Facebook pictures. AND we were also able to stream our Netflix shows 2/6 nights. ;-) Barbara and Kris were great hosts, friendly and with good tips for island life. The location is great - very near both towns and NWF with its gorgeous beaches. I highly recommend this cottage. I would return in a minute!

“Fantastic!!!” Alex, thank you so much for renting us your beautiful apartment and for making the rental process so much easier and the service you provided. It was perfect! We all had a great time. The apartment had every comfort we could have hoped for and absolutely everything we needed. It was very well kept. The location of the apartment was good and the 3 swimming pools and its facilities were exceptional. I liked everything about it. The fact of the controls at the gates are very reassuring. I did not appreciate the attitude of the female guard towards some other guests (not within our party)where instead of directing herself verbally to him, she basically blew her whistle in his ear and pointed to him with gestures what he was doing wrong. It was the only negative thing I can mention. Once again..it was a fantastic stay and would rent the same apartment again!

“What a Treasure” This rental is truly a treasure. If you like wild animals, dogs, roaring waves and horses, this is the place for you! It is a home away from home, the side porch has the most wonderful breezes and sights. The wild horses graze next to the land. There are two colts, fairly young that frolic with each other.(so cute!!) The house has everything you need, just bring your bathing suit and toothbrush. I'm looking forward to my trip back next year. Thank you Gloria

Beach Lover's Heaven

Luquillo apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“A Good Choice for a Delightful Stay in Eastern Puerto Rico” We rented it for a month in January 2014 and liked it a lot. We would consider renting it again. The neighborhood is interesting, quaint, safe and clean as well as a little rough around the edges and not exactly neat and pretty. The condo building itself is isolated by walls on all sides, security gates, and double locked hallway entry doors. The parking and public areas are well lit. In January, during the week, it can be very quiet - only two or three other occupied apartments in the building. On weekends, it gets a little busier and sometimes a little loud. The unit faces the ocean on the second floor of a three story building, less than 20 feet from a seawall so the sound of the waves crashing is always present. The condo is comfortable. The beds are large and firm. The living room couches are nice and soft. The eating and sitting areas are also comfortable as are the balcony chairs. The condo is well equipped. In addition to bedding, bathroom towels, cooking utensils, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and cooktop, china and glassware, it has books, Dvds, a blender, toaster oven, toaster, beach chairs, beach towels, sunscreen, insect repellant, beach toys and boogie boards, paper towels, candles, cleaning products and kitchen towels. It has a single 32" flat screen TV in the living room, a DVD player, Dish network satellite TV and a 1 Mb\S cable internet with wifi. The water supply is clean and plentiful. Electric power is consistent and reliable. The owners provided helpful directions from the airport as well as general support. They were both pleasant and responsive. A short walk on the beach leads to a river and a view of the mountains. To the East is the public beach of Luquillo, behind the strip of little beach restaurants called Kioscos. Beyond this beach is the stunning, clean and well maintained Monserrate Balneario beach. Surely this must be one of the best beaches on the east coast of Puerto Rico.

Fully Air-conditioned Condo Beach Front Penthouse Apartment
Great adventure.

Condo was as pictured. Views were awesome. The upstairs terrace was a bonus. Pool area was perfect. Weather was perfect. Sunny and hot. Traffic noise was a little loud. You get used to the roosters and dogs. I would recommend this place to family. It's location is in a nice small town. Shopping is close by within 20 minutes. Fajardo and El Yunque, old San Juan. The condo was well equipped with supplies. Carlos was great to work with. Let us in early and stay late. Thanks Carlos for a great vacation.see more
