“A'Mazing L'Alize” From the minute we decided to book L'Alize until we boarded the plane to leave Roatan we were given top notch service. Our pre-trip planning was a breeze and we had tons of help from the owner and manager. Upon arrival we were met at the airport and taken to the local grocery store to stock up on supplies. From the store it was about a 20-minute ride to L'Alize. Thankfully the house came with a van because the walk out to the road is steep!. We were given a tour of the house by Tish (the manager) and introduced to Olga, Edie, and their family (our caretakers, cooks, and concierge). The house is as described, perhaps even better, and pictures can not show how truly amazing it is. From the second you walk through the door you are preoccupied with the incredible view out every window. We spent a great deal of time on the decks but there were nights we had to eat inside because the breeze could be a bit much. However, waking up in the morning in the master suite is unbelievable! The breeze rolls through the room, the sound of the ocean is in the distance (along with a rooster), and you can lay in bed and watch the sunrise as cruise ships pass by. The kitchen is very well stocked and it was easy to cook for our large group (12 total). There are stairs everywhere at L'Alize and you must conquer a fair amount of them to get to the beaches. Both beaches are decent and Edie attempts to keep them clean but a fair deal of trash can wash in each night. The surf was a bit much for snorkeling for most our group but it was possible. The main beach in front of the house is next to the caretaker's house but the second beach (a 10 minute walk) is quite secluded. You are between West Bay and West End and both are easy to reach (we spent the majority of our time between the two). South Shore Zipline is a very short ride from the house (You will pass it daily). We ended up spending $140 for gas but we were constantly on the move. You will not be sorry if you stay

“Great trip, great accomodations” I stayed along with 5 friends at Casa Ladera for a week in October. The accomodations were great, with close proximity to restaurants, shopping and bars. We traveled to the other side of the island several times, and recommend The asylum, a little restaurant/bar on the South side that sits in the water on a pier. The Fantasy Island Resort is also a fun day trip with facilities, snorkeling, and restaurant. We found the house to be roomy, comfortable, and conveniently located. Rogers

“great location great service” Villa del playa offered beautiful sunsets and great location! Mark Flanagan the concierge does a wonderful job or arranging transportation, trips and overall any problems encountered. Ten minute walk to city center of West End. Quiet location but can get to bustle in short time. Visit the east end of the island to get the rural island feel and beauty. We could drink the water out of the fridge and had an ice maker and washer and dryer which were wonderful to have.

“Fabulous Trip” We stayed here for 7 days and loved every minute . The view is amazing, the rooftop is the best part. Spacious condo ,there were 6 of us who stayed there. We walked to West End everyday had great food, we did have Chef Susan come one night which is well worth it. Went to West Bay by water taxi. We went scuba diving, zip lining, swam with Dolphins, and just relaxed on the rooftop. We started each morning and ended each night on rooftop well worth the extra money .

“Amazing Vacation on the beautiful island of Roatan” My husband and I stayed at the Villas Del Plays unit #5 for two weeks with another couple. We had a wonderful time and spent a lot of time on the rooftop either floating in the private pool or just gazing out at the brilliant blue ocean. We snorkelled just out from the dock in front of the unit but did find that the water taxi traffic was very busy and dangerous. There were two kayaks at our disposal and we paddled out to the edge of the reef and tied off on one of the buoys. Villa Del Playa is right in front of the Blue Channel snorkelling site Beautiful!! We booked on line and communications with Roatan Life was always prompt. Mark Flannagan arranged our taxi pickup at the airport for 4 for 25.00 american and for an additional 10.00 we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few groceries. Our driver was Channin Boddine, he made us feel welcome and very safe. Channin is a hard working Island resident raising a young family with extensive knowledge of the island and it's history. We also booked an Island road trip with him for 100.00 for the 4 of us which we enjoyed very much. I would suggest that if your group drinks a lot of beer this type of trip would be when you should pick up case lots of beer from the distributor on the other side of the island...very cheap that way :). Everything needs to be carried up the three flights of stairs...great exercise! There is a young man Eldin working for the property that helped us carry in luggage groceries etc. He worked very hard keeping the property clean and running smoothly. I was concerned about safety issues in Honduras but found that I felt very safe on the Island...just don't do stupid things, no different than Calgary or any other city for that matter. Do bring lots of bug spray with deet...and use it plus sun screen and keep applying it. It wears off especially in the water. We booked an all day catamaran snorkelling trip through Mark with the Stray Cats and had a wonderful time, highly recommend them
