About Sechelt
Considered to be British Columbia’s best kept secret, Sechelt is just one of a handful of small towns that dot the Sunshine Coast.
Surrounded by natural beauty Sechelt is a haven for artists and a magnet for lovers of the outdoors looking for adventure not far from Metro Vancouver. Just book your FlipKey property and you'll be able to join them!
About Sechelt
Sechelt is just 50 kilometers northwest of Vancouver. It lies on the Sunshine Coast, which gets its name from the fact it has way more sunny days than the rest of British Columbia.
To get to Sechelt from Vancouver, you'll need to take a 40-minute ferry ride and then a 27 kilometer drive up highway 101. Luckily for us, Sechelt remains an unspoiled area of natural beauty and is a perfect escape from the nearby city.
First settled by Canada’s indigenous Shishalh people thousands of years ago, Sechelt, in their language, translates to "land between two waters" and this is still true today… Sechelt is on a strip of land between the Georgia Strait and Sechelt Inlet.
The area around Sechelt boasts some of the best salmon fishing in British Columbia and is a popular destination for boaters, hikers, skiers and generally anyone who like to take part in outdoor activities. So, what are you waiting for? Start packing!
What to do in Sechelt
Sechelt and the entire Sunshine Coast will appeal to nature lovers and sportsmen and women with its blissful mix of both land and water activities that are suitable for all ages and abilities.
To get a feel for the area and to learn about its past visit the Tems Swiya Museum to view a collection of artifacts and cultural materials that include totem poles and a historic longhouse.
Make the most of your visit to Sechelt by renting a kayak and exploring the many hidden coves and inlets. Or, if water's not your thing, put your hiking boots on and hit the trails in Sargeant Bay Provincial Park where you can view nature at its best.
British Columbia is a fisherman’s paradise with the area around Sechelt full of Coho, Pink and Sockeye salmon. Try your hand at fly fishing for surface-feeding trout or visit Ruby Lake to land a cutthroat salmon or trout.

How we sort results
Properties on Flipkey can be sorted/ranked in the following ways:
Relevance
Orders properties using various data points, in particular: ratings, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, minimum number of nights, and data relating to the interest in/bookings of the property through us, including the advertiser’s rate of providing quotes to travellers who make enquiries. Other factors include price, property capacity, number of photographs, location, amenities, appearance in search results, page views, and the advertiser’s responsiveness and cancellation rate.
Price low to high / high to low
Orders properties based on either (i) the property’s minimum nightly price, if the traveller has searched without dates, or (ii) the average nightly price for the applicable week of the year, if the traveller has input dates.
Total reviews
Orders properties by total number of reviews attached to the listing (highest to lowest), irrespective of average score. Where there is a listing with the same number of reviews as another (or a listing with no reviews), properties are sorted according to their proximity to the searched location.
