“Home from home with an awful lot more ...” For us La Mulinella was idyllic, from the thick stone walls and curved ceilings of the house itself to the unique view out of each window. It's rustic charm combined with every mod-con makes for the most relaxing holiday. The only problem for our family of four, children aged seven and twelve was that everytime we left the house all we wanted to do was get back to it!!(if you call that a problem)Ping pong by the pool, hammocks in the shade, a bread/dough maker and last but defeniteley not least a traditional wood burning pizza oven.It is "A little gem" We thank the family for being so helpful and sharing their wonderful home with us...

“Fabulous place to stay, helpful owners, perfect location” This is the second time we have stayed at this fabulous villa. We have always found the owners to be welcoming, extremely helpful and very friendly. The accommodation is finished and maintained to a high standard with all home comforts and the appliances you might require. The upstairs apartment is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The garden and surrounding areas are lovely and once again highly maintained. Even though car hire is a must, For us, the location is perfect. There is a short and pleasurable drive (approx 15-20 mins) to the beautiful shores of Lake Bolsena, where you can spend some time in the medieval old town or relax at different points around the lake. The location of the villa makes it very easy for taking in the numerous sights locally and a little further afield. There is so much to see in this beautiful area of Italy that we are going to have to return!

“Great holiday for everyone” We were a combination of three families, including grandparent, cousins, friends, including children from 9 - 23 and there was something for everyone. Lots of room for kids to run around in grounds, big pool with lots of chairs/lounges, great outdoor eating morning, noon and night, good kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms in abundance. Ipod dock and books for everyone. We travelled as far as Rome, Perugia, Todi, Spoleto, etc. Highly recommended.

“where to stay in Torre alfina” We had the chance to discover Torre alfina thanks to our friends marriage. They planed our staying in Luisa's house and we have really to thank them: it 's the right place to stay if you are planning to visit Torre alfina. Relax and beautiful landscape in a very nice apartment, renovated with care and details and Luisa's kindness and hospitality make your staying perfect.

“Podernuovo offers a unique opportunity to see the real Italy in” Service: Alvina and Umberto are the perfect hosts, friendly and helpful, well-informed as to what to do and what to see. The accommodation: The villas are superbly appointed with every modern appliance, yet from the exterior they retain their rustic charm. All the windows overlook the vineyard and olive groves and the spacious terraces are the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of Umberto's wine after a day of exploring. Location: Podernuovo is well situated to visit the many medieval villages Tuscany is known for. We have had 10 stays at Podernuovo and have enjoyed wonderful day trips to Collodi, the town of Pinocchio Pistoia, Sant'Antimo abbey, to listen to the monks Gregorian chant and Saturnina to luxuriate in the thermal baths. Alvina and Umberto's local knowledge also extends to the most novel and interesting restaurants in the region. The village of Castel del Piano is a 10 minute stroll up the hill and boasts excellent supermarkets, cafes and bars. What did we like best? My husband and I love everything about staying at Podernuovo as witnessed by 10 stays there! Perhaps however, the fact that it is truly unique Italian experience, 'off the beaten track' in a sense and in a place where tourists do not abound (and where villagers are friendly and welcoming), sets it apart from other villas we have stayed in. I simply can find nothing about Podernuovo that doesnt delight both of us. In fact, we are already planning our next visit for 2013.

“Excellent villa in a beautiful location” We were three families holidaying in this wonderful villa with our children, ages 9-16. The kids loved the pool and us adults enjoyed soaking up the Umbrian sun in the well-maintained gardens. We explored the local area-Montepulciano, Isla Maggiore and Castiglione del Lago (market Wednesday am). We also did Siena on the train. Would have liked to have done more, but a week is not enough. Katia was such a welcoming host, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you very much Katia, hope to see you in a year or two!

“Wondrous place and time” Maridiana is wondrous, with a forested backdrop overlooking Umbria's pastures and fields. Four Californians soaked up culture, especially food and wine, for an autumn week. Uncongested and slow-paced, outside of assisi and Perugia, we effortlessly explored the villages and hill-towns with our host's good advise. Casale is spacious and comfortable, although the beds are a bit firm. The stairway demands focus, and head-dipping; the upper road is best avoided without a high clearance vehicle. But the house reflects its history, and I would return unreservedly -- especially to sit on the lawn at sunset with a glass of sangiovese while wandering alpacas nibble the grass.

“green outdoors plus charm at home” I stayed in the "Fontanelle" farmhouse of Colle San Paolo for 2 weeks in July, with an extended family of ten adults and 5 children- and we had an excellent stay and wondeful time-- the check-in, introduction to the rooms, and overall responsiveness was warm and excellent. The home is furnished beautifully and charmingly comfortable, with spectacular views particularly on the east and southern sides. All the amenities are excellent, including the common areas: the infinity swimming pool with beautiful view of the valley, patio/garden with lavender and ancient olive tree, shaded barbecue area and the common (games/eating) room- as well as of course the pristine woods around the farmhouse. We received excellent tips on where to go for wine-tasting; medieval villages (where we met a jolly band of Franciscan faithful walking for peace); donkey walks for the children; jazz music in medieval castles; and hidden monastries off the tourist map. Most of all we enjoyed the fresh air, beautiful views and relaxed setting at the swimming pool with lots of space for meals in the common room and nearby walks in the early evening. We enjoyed every minute, emersed in the Italian countryside, with lots to do nearby whenever we felt the impulse to leave this comfortable and charming home.

“Paradise in Tuscany!” This lovely villa has it all and is the kind of place that makes you want to stay and 'while away' the afternoon among its many outdoor spaces: whether it's dining in the gazebo overlooking the vineyard, watching as the evening sun sets over the gently rolling hills, relaxing in a chaise by the glistening pool, enjoying a café crème or glass of wine on the patio surrounded by roses, lemon trees and pots of flowers, or gazing beyond at Cortona high on a hill or Trasimeno Lake in the valley below, you will come to know this is a very special place. La Valiana is centrally located for explorations to nearby villages and wineries, Cortona, lovely Pienza (a favorite), Montepulciano or easy day trips to Montalcino, Orvieto, Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Chianti and beyond. It is comfortable and beautifully decorated in classic, Tuscan style with fine architectural details such as wrought iron arched windows, doors and Travertine marble floors. You will be well taken care of and looked after by Cecelia and her Family who are the most gracious hosts - they are dedicated to making your stay a wonderful, memorable one, making themselves available should you need any assistance. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail will make you feel special and, at once, a part of the family. If you opt to have a meal prepared and waiting for your arrival after a long day of travel or touring, it will not disappoint and, quite possibly, could be one of the best meals in all of Tuscany, especially when enjoyed under the stars. You will want for nothing - except perhaps to extend your stay, or at the very least, come back again! You can be sure we will be back!!

“Great stay- we hope to return!” We truly enjoyed our stay here. Matteo was a wonderful host and even met us outside of town to make sure that we did not get lost on the way to the agriturismo. The room was clean and very comfortable, especially important since we brought our 3 month old baby. The kitchenette was very useful and had everything we needed. This was a perfect place to stay while in town for Benvenuto Brunello because it allowed us a gorgeous drive and was away from crowds. We even enjoyed Quercecchio's wine, both Brunello and Rosso. Next time, we hope to visit around harvest time!

“Beautiful home and handy location” My husband and I stayed in October, 2012. The villa is beautiful with stunning views. We had dinner on the terrace overlooking the pool and hilly wilderness. The bathrooms are a large with great showers. Plentiful hiking options are just outside your door. The villa is well situated in easy driving distance from all of Umbria's charming villages and sites.

“heavenly” A beautifully appointed home, with mercifully two batherooms, tastefully decorated with all that you need. The kitchen is a dream - everything you need. Lovely crockery, not bottom-of-the-range, and the bed linen also of excellent quality. Easy access to Siena, on the bus-route - useful to go into Siena by bus, because parking can be a nightmare in Siena itself. Lovely view of Siena, from the top floor. So all in all, this is a hard place to beat, if you want a few days, or longer, just to chill-out and relax and you would be forgiven for thinking Maggie Smith is going to come walking up the drive-way...
