“A Secret Gem on Nantucket” Searching for a quiet and relaxing end-of-summer experience, we found Lesser Light to be the perfect home from which to explore the Serengeti, the miles of bike paths and the solitude of a nearly-deserted Tom Nevers beach. Nestled away from the road and surrounded by beautiful island foliage, the property is a delight for all the senses. The cottage is immaculately maintained and well-appointed with an array of upscale amenities. The huge deck and outdoor shower are sheer pleasure after a bike-ride to the beach or just soaking up the sun on a quiet afternoon. The owners are attentive and gracious, providing prompt assistance and guidance for even the smallest of issues. The only difficult part of the stay was having to pack and leave what we now consider our Nantucket home. We are looking forward to experiencing the cottage in the off-season this year and for years to come.

“Wonderful autumn week” Our stay at this property was wonderful! The view of the rolling backyard and the location is idyllic. This was our first visit to Nantucket and this rental contributed greatly to a most pleasant experience. This home is spacious, comfortable and stocked with every amenity. Big screen tv with cable, kitchen with more than ample cooking supplies, wi-fi and oversized dining table that accomodated 8 of us are some of the comforts of home. House was very clean and ready for our arrival. Beds are comfortable with nice linens. Towels are plush and ample. Washer and dryer are an added bonus. Given that we visited in the off-season (the week of Thanksgiving), we made use of mild weather by walking (to the beach, around the cranberry bogs, to/from altar Rock and around Nantucket town). The beach is welcoming and observing the seals just 10 yards out was a thrill! We did some Black Friday shopping downtown. On rainy days we enjoyed the extensive collection of reading materials, especially the coffee table books on Nantucket! The owner is extremely helpful and readily available to address any concerns or questions. He recommended restaurants and offered suggestions. We loved the Whaling Museum but didn't allow ourselves enough time for a complete visit. Guess this means that we will have to go back! Overall, a great home and a great place. You must have a car as this property is located several miles out of town. “Luxurious, comfortable home with fantastic hosts!” I stayed in this gorgeous home with ten close friends for our good friend's wedding weekend. Our experience was superb! The real treat was that the house is utterly perfect for groups. The house has stunning and secluded outdoor space--we played lawn games, grilled, sunbathed, read, and ate outside all weekend long in what felt like a private island oasis. The Widow's Walk offered views of the ocean, stars, and surrounding maritime forest. Cooking for a large group was throughly enjoyable in the high-end and well-equipped kitchen. The house is open and conducive to socializing, but large enough that smaller groups were able to convene in separate sitting areas. All the rooms were beautiful with comfortable beds and bedding--no one felt that they'd gotten the short end of the stick. As a light sleeper, I appreciated the house's many doors, which allowed the night owls and early risers to sleep peacefully. Finally, our hosts were wonderful! They greeted us warmly and ensured that we had everything we needed. I left some important items at the house and Lauren generously shipped them to me the following day. This was my first time in Nantucket and I'd be thrilled to stay at this house again!

“Utopia!” This vacation home is absolutely spectacular! So close to everything yet a peaceful oasis of tranquility on the island. The grounds are stunning and well cared for. The home's lay out is very convenient for parents with kids and guests. The kitchen, living room and deck are great for entertaining. The owners are extremely accomodating and make you feel at home. We frankly hope they never sell it as we hope to visit every summer for many years to come. If you want a comfortable, clean, well appointed home for family and friends a little off the beaten path yet convenient to town and 'Sconset, this is a great choice!

“Paradise” We were in heaven! This property is secluded and beyond peaceful. The house looks out on a small harbor and quiet beach with rare birds. The sunsets are extraordinary and we enjoyed many nights lounging on the porch, drinking wine, nibbling cheese or grilling (freshly caught!) fish and watching the sky turn colors before it got dark (and then we were faced with brilliant stars--we're New Yorkers so we don't get night skies like this!) The house is spacious, yet very cozy. The master bedroom has an amazing (huge!) shower and jacuzzi. The living room has big comfy couches, throw pillows and a working fireplace. One night we roasted marshmallows and played cards. A perfect stay-in evening. I feel I should also say--this house is stocked! The kitchen comes with everything you could want if you're a foodie (we grilled, made mixed drinks, made sushi one night, baked muffins, everything.) There is great cable including HBO and a video library, as well as games for kids if you should need. We loved to bike some days to a nearby beach (Madaket, about 15 minutes away) where there was a little more action than our private one (a taco restaurant called The Westender and spot with bigger surf where we went to boogie board.) The house has beach balls, paddle ball, and buckets for building sand castles. The bikes provided by owners are in great shape and there were also helmets available. Additionally, we loved that there were ocean kayaks, though we didn't have a chance to use them. Mostly, I think we all appreciated that we could completely unwind in this peaceful spot, read, sleep in, enjoy the beauty of the island, etc., but also get into town quickly if we wanted to go out for dinner or get drinks. Getting to Cisco is also a pretty quick trip--and we went twice to the brewery to get a drink after the beach and listen to live music. Overall, this was one of my best vacations in recent memory. You must try this part of the island and
