“Exactly as described” Had a great holiday, based here, convenient for lakes and coast. Very pretty village with two pubs, both with food service and dog friendly. Cottage itself, was clean and well equipped, even toilet rolls and cleaning stuff supplied. The lounge and kitchen are upstairs, with bedrooms below and worked fine for us. All in all very pleased

“perfect location, perfect accommodation” This is a perfect cottage for two. It is surprisingly spacious, with a very well appointed kitchen, comfortable seating, exceptionally large bathroom with plenty of hot water. It is spotlessly clean. The added bonus is the parking space and proximity to ambleside. Wifi would have been the icing on the cake but there were plenty of wifi cafes and pubs in ambleside. The booking procedure and key arrangements were straight forward. We loved it and will be going back later this year

“very very wet outside snug and warm inside” had a lovely family weekend with plenty of space and room to spread out especially in light of the abundance of sofas and arm chairs. most amazing though were the views... kept the curtains open so that it was the first thing we saw!

“A superb location for country lovers” A spacious, well appointed and well located cottage set in the Lune valley. Walk just a few yards down the road and you can see the Howgill Fells and the river Lune. Although located with a few other cottages it feels private, and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. We had a memorable holiday and would certainly consider staying again. Kirkby Lonsdale (a few miles away) has a good local supermarket and plenty of pubs/restaurants.

“Well placed pretty and nicely finished cottage for a break in th” First time using Sykes and will certainloy be returning to them for another break. No problems and received regular email updates with driving directions and entrance instructions. The cottage was easily found with either some very simple directions supplied or by Sat Nav. We found this cottage nice and centrally located for our weeks holiday and proved to be a good base for us and what we chose to do. It's only a short drive to the Windermere and Kendal for example. Well worth the drive to Ulverstone via the Kirk Stone Pass to Ullswater Lake and a cruise on there. Even closer is Grange over Sands a nice quaint town, shame there was no beach there though. Cottage has a nice blend of old v new decoration with a very nicely finished kitchen and main bathroom whilst the rest of the cottage had more rustic feel to it. Only grumble about the cottage we had was the bed / matress in the main bedroom. I Personally feel that these could do with being replaced as both my wife and I found this very uncomfortable which stopped us from giving an excellant review for comfort. Worth noting for members of the National Trust that you will get free car parking in a number of car parks which could work out saving a small fortune over the time of a holiday in the Lake District

“Great Base For The Lakes” The property is only small,but was a great base camp for a week away with only a short walk or drive to most places.It has all modern ammenities but does not have an open fire. Very clean and very well presented would definately return for a future visit.

“A very peaceful location” The cottage was wonderfull, we had a warm reception when we arrived. A nice bottle of wine and some fresh free range eggs awaited us. The countryside and surrounding areas were very pleasant & peaceful. The town was only a matter of 10mins drive away & it was easy to explore the area and further afield. “Fabulous property in a great location” This cottage was much bigger than we expected and very well furnished. The bedrooms were large and there was more than ample room downstairs. Great location for touring the South Lakes region and less than 30 minutes drive to Bowness on Windermere. The local pub has a really good atmosphere with friendly staff and serves a number of real ales and good food. All in all a fantastic option with or without a pet.

“Tranquil haven” A friendly, welcoming, but inobtrusive couple. The cottage is very well supplied with good quality furnishings, everything you need to feel at home is here. Warm, and homely, the master bedroom is all you would hope for in a high quality hotel. With the icing on the cake being the unspoilt views over rolling hills, the cattle, sheep and fowl as your neighbours. Ideally located for both the Lakes and Dales. I will certainly recommend Tethera, and it's accompanying cottages, and plan to return.

“What a great weekend” We went for a 40th birthday and took 16 friends along with us. The house was just great in every way. We enjoyed the space, the kitchen and its cupboards full of stuff, the jacuzzi and the massive lounge with roaring fire. I would recommend this for a great weekend getaway with friends or family. It's in a fabulous location right by the sea and very private. My only bug was it was cold but we did go in November! Would definitely go again.
