“Excellent stay at Smithy Cottage” We really enjoyed our stay at Smithy Cottage. The location for our requirements was excellent, as some of the party wanted to climb mountains and some wanted to stay local. All the facilities at the cottage were excellent. We had a meal at the pub down the road which again was excellent, and would certainly recommend this.

“Spacious, clean and well positioned holiday home” Hunter's Chase is a large, modern well equipped house, ideally positioned for visiting the Northern Lake District. We visited with a large, mixed age group of 9 from an 8 year old to Grandad in his 80s. All of the bedrooms were well appointed with plenty of storage space. A total of 4 bathrooms plus a downstairs cloakroom meant there were no arguments or queues for the toilet! The two main bedrooms were equipped with large flat screen tvs as well as the lounge. We also made good use of the wi-fi in the house. The kitchen was newly fitted and very well equipped with every type of crockery, cutlery and cooking implement you might require as well as a dishwasher and a large fridge freezer. It's located in a lovely village (although we never tried the pub) with the actual position being very quiet with views over fields and a large garden good for playing ball games. Pooley Bridge nearby has several pubs and a lovely beach by the river and Penrith, also not far away, is a traditional market town with facilities including a swimming pool, cinema and the normal array of supermarkets.

“Perfect Lakeland Base, Keswick UK” The place was perfectly located in a quite road within walking distance to Keswick and the Lake. Everything we needed was provided, and a nice surprise was the free WiFi. It was a perfect base for exploring the local fells, and the views from the kitchen and main bedroom were to die for. Adequate heating ensured a warm evening. Highly Recommended!

“Nice looking, but some of the quality not great” The layout and size of the accommodation was lovely. We were staying during a very cold snowy week and the place felt warm and comfy all the time. One issue was the very creaky floor and stair. There was hardly anywhere to stand that didn't creak, which in a new build isn't good. Also the doors didn't stay shut. Our 2 year old was able to get into everywhere because none of the door catches worked.

“Friendly, homely and relaxing” Great cottage in an ideal location. This was our first holiday cottage rental and it didn't disappoint. We were warmly welcomed, the cottage was very clean and well equipped. It was easy to find and in a good location for touring the surrounds areas. I went with my mum and two dogs and we would both deffinately want to go back with the husbands. Would highly recommend this property

“Would definitely stay again!” We had a great stay here over New Year 2013. Excellent location, great house with lots of amenities such as cooking utensils, kitchen towel and tea towels, bedding, TV, dishwasher and tablets, washing machine and detergent, a torch (for late night walks to the pub), 2 bathrooms and downstairs loo, and ample parking space for our 4 cars! We only have a couple of suggestions: we would have liked some hand soap in the bathrooms, a ladle in the kitchen would have been handy (we bought a peeler and left it there for the next guests :-) ) and also the downstairs patio windows leaked an awful amount of water so the carpet around the window was completely sodden (if we forgot about this, it ended up with some rather wet socks but I am sure this is being fixed, we were probably just unlucky). These are definitely not complaints and didn't spoil our stay one bit! We would most definitely recommend the house and would stay again. We had a great time!! Also the pub in Morland was great on New Years Day too! Thanks a lot

“Great accomodation amidst The Peak Of The Snow!” We arrived during some of the worst travelling conditions I have experienced. It took us 5 hours to drive from Edinburgh in the snow! Given that I am used to travelling to Keswick in under 3 hours in beautiful weather in the Summer, I had lowered my expectations of the stay by the time we hit Penrith. I am pleased to say that I was wrong to think the weather would curtail our fun. My 5 year old son, the dog and I had a wonderful time! Brigham Row was perfect for us. It provided a comfortable base for us whilst we set about on our adventures. My son thoroughly enjoyed it and welcomed going back to our cottage at the end of each day. Very clean and well presented. Great value for money! I would recommend this to any small family who want to combine the joy of eating out with the ease of self-catering. Close to the town centre. Overall a great start to our Easter holiday. Wonderful memories made!

“the best holiday experience...ever, scenery...breathtaking.” tutheren lodge was excellent, everything you could need provided and more. the location was perfect only a ten minute walk from town. i came on holiday for peace and quiet after the passing of my son and i certainly got it! the surroundings were breathtaking. there was nothing i disliked about my holiday and i will definately be back!

Nice cottage

We had a lovely holiday staying at this cottage,spacious with private garden(despite the weather). The local pub served very nice food although probably more expensive than further afield. Good location for getting to most areas Just a couple of niggles...No towels are provided and there is only one tiny wardrobe in the master bedroom, no others at all! … see more
