“Excellent location” My family and I had a wonderful three day break here,couldn't fault the resort or the lodge,which was in a fantastic location right on the lake.Unfortunately the weather wasn't as wonderful,but you expect that in Britain in the summer,and there was plenty to do on site, and the pool and steam room was well used. All in all I would thoroughly recommend pine lakes to anyone who wants quiet location with easy access to the motorway.

“Well placed pretty and nicely finished cottage for a break in th” First time using Sykes and will certainloy be returning to them for another break. No problems and received regular email updates with driving directions and entrance instructions. The cottage was easily found with either some very simple directions supplied or by Sat Nav. We found this cottage nice and centrally located for our weeks holiday and proved to be a good base for us and what we chose to do. It's only a short drive to the Windermere and Kendal for example. Well worth the drive to Ulverstone via the Kirk Stone Pass to Ullswater Lake and a cruise on there. Even closer is Grange over Sands a nice quaint town, shame there was no beach there though. Cottage has a nice blend of old v new decoration with a very nicely finished kitchen and main bathroom whilst the rest of the cottage had more rustic feel to it. Only grumble about the cottage we had was the bed / matress in the main bedroom. I Personally feel that these could do with being replaced as both my wife and I found this very uncomfortable which stopped us from giving an excellant review for comfort. Worth noting for members of the National Trust that you will get free car parking in a number of car parks which could work out saving a small fortune over the time of a holiday in the Lake District

“very very wet outside snug and warm inside” had a lovely family weekend with plenty of space and room to spread out especially in light of the abundance of sofas and arm chairs. most amazing though were the views... kept the curtains open so that it was the first thing we saw!

“family holiday” The cottage was a really nice one, there was 6 adults and my then 6month old grandaughter. We had plenty of room so nobody was in one anothers way. There was plenty of information of what was around and about to do, which was helpful for us when we had done all we had planned. I phoned the owners the day before and they were really helpfull they answered all i asked. The only let down we had was the lack of cleaning my eldest daughter and myself had to clean from top to bottom as there was dog hairs everywhere and when i washed the floors i had to change the water 3 times. The drive up to the cottage is a long way from the road but we didnt mind that. Dont run out of anything as the nearest shops are a fair distance. What we all liked was the open views we had, the viaduct was in sight from the sunlounge,the people was all so frindly. Would we go again... yes we would.

“A beautiful place, a perfect break” The cottage is in a gorgeous location within easy reach of many of the Dales. It had everything we needed whilst retaining its Dales charm and character. “Great Base For The Lakes” The property is only small,but was a great base camp for a week away with only a short walk or drive to most places.It has all modern ammenities but does not have an open fire. Very clean and very well presented would definately return for a future visit.

“A very peaceful location” The cottage was wonderfull, we had a warm reception when we arrived. A nice bottle of wine and some fresh free range eggs awaited us. The countryside and surrounding areas were very pleasant & peaceful. The town was only a matter of 10mins drive away & it was easy to explore the area and further afield. “A superb location for country lovers” A spacious, well appointed and well located cottage set in the Lune valley. Walk just a few yards down the road and you can see the Howgill Fells and the river Lune. Although located with a few other cottages it feels private, and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. We had a memorable holiday and would certainly consider staying again. Kirkby Lonsdale (a few miles away) has a good local supermarket and plenty of pubs/restaurants.

“Fabulous property in a great location” This cottage was much bigger than we expected and very well furnished. The bedrooms were large and there was more than ample room downstairs. Great location for touring the South Lakes region and less than 30 minutes drive to Bowness on Windermere. The local pub has a really good atmosphere with friendly staff and serves a number of real ales and good food. All in all a fantastic option with or without a pet.

“Tranquil haven” A friendly, welcoming, but inobtrusive couple. The cottage is very well supplied with good quality furnishings, everything you need to feel at home is here. Warm, and homely, the master bedroom is all you would hope for in a high quality hotel. With the icing on the cake being the unspoilt views over rolling hills, the cattle, sheep and fowl as your neighbours. Ideally located for both the Lakes and Dales. I will certainly recommend Tethera, and it's accompanying cottages, and plan to return.

“very relaxing welcoming and cosy home from home cottage.” Brilliant base for a relaxing break. Home baked muffins and milk from the owners was a welcome treat and handy because we forgot to buy milk!. Neighbours friendly and welcoming. Only 15 steps to the pub! Logs and coal aplenty and cottage extremely cosy when fire going. We would definitely recommend this cottage and will be back again im sure. Thanks for a wonderful weekend

“What a great weekend” We went for a 40th birthday and took 16 friends along with us. The house was just great in every way. We enjoyed the space, the kitchen and its cupboards full of stuff, the jacuzzi and the massive lounge with roaring fire. I would recommend this for a great weekend getaway with friends or family. It's in a fabulous location right by the sea and very private. My only bug was it was cold but we did go in November! Would definitely go again.

“Fantastic house loved by everyone” We were a group of 10 women who were here for a girlie weekend of relaxation and laughter and the house certainly lived up to our expectations. There was more than enough room and the open plan dining/kitchen was where we spent most of our time. Everything about the house was high quality and we appreciated the lovely touch of cake and bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. We are definitely looking at booking again next year.
