“Casa Del arbol Cantando” We give Casa Del arbol Cantando a 5 Star+ Rating! We stayed with a group of friends from 12/17 to 12/28/12 and can't say enough about the condo, the location and the caring, personale and involved owners, Sherwin and Peg. We have rented a lot of condos over the years in different locations and this one stands out as one of the best ever. The condo is gorgeous, the location is breathtaking. Waking up to that view every morning was amazing. Our quads are in the best shape ever after those breathtakingly beautiful hikes up and down the 76 stairs to LaRopa! We loved the quality touches, the gorgeous dishes, glassware, copper bottom cookware (could have used a baking sheet however)and artsy touches. The signature "arbol cantando" is a huge wow factor! The ambience is perfect. Having 2 patios was delightful and both are a plant and flower lovers feast! Dona Rosario was a wonderful personable housekeeper who makes great breakfasts! The five of us had plenty of room to relax and spread out. Most of all what sets this condo apart is the caring and personable owners. They were great at answering questions ahead of time but called while we were there to make sure everything was ok. We were sharing photos back and forth and made new friends in the process of renting. All of their recommendations for restaurants and experiences were spot on. I'm sure they make all their guests feel this special! We took the bus often to explore the great restaurants and our favorite coffee shop in Zihua - it's easy to get the bus just a block from the bottom of the stairs and at 6.5 pesos just riding the bus was a fun local adventure. Also from the condo it's a great hike over to Playa Las Gatas - again the best combination of workout and then relaxing great beach, fish tacos and cerveza once there. We would highly recommend this great condo to anyone looking for a memorable Zihua experience!

“A week in Paradise” We had a wonderful relaxing week. All the tips and suggestions that Barbara Tucker left were the best. We loved the kitchen!!! Altho we had most meals out it was lovely being able to fix our slushy drinks and snacks for just kicking back and relaxing. Definately a place to put on the list to go back to only next time it has to be at least 2 weeks.

“A gratifying, relaxing,enjoyable vacation.” What a great vacation spot! It exelled our expectations,gorgeous well kept grounds, very clean, modern comfy accomodations. Loved being so close to the ocean, plus the soft sand beach, which would take you either way to oceanside restaurants, they were all good. So relaxing with beautiful sunsets, falling asleep to the ocean waves.It was all there! Raoul and Laurie were very graciously helpfull when we needed anything, including letting us know when the venders were at the gate should we want any fruit, veggies or fresh baked bread and tortillas. The knowledge of being secure in this gated villa was an absolute plus for me. It doesn't get much better than this. A little taste of heaven. Highly recommend it. We will be back!!

“Wish we could have stayed longer” Casa Pura Vida was a perfect home away from home, in a lovely gated complex, in a wonderful mexican fishing village. We wish we had discovered Zihautanejo when we first started traveling to Mexico. The condo was well equipped with a full kitchen. There was lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood available in the local markets. We had planned to eat a majority of our meals at the condo, but ate out often as there were many good restaurants all with in easy walking distance. My husband loves swimming in the ocean, while I prefer swimming pools. There were two nice pools at the complex with the one closest to the condo an adult only pool. I must confess I did swim in ocean while in Zihautanejo way more than any other place we have visited in Mexico. There is alot to see and do and we manage to explore quite a bit of the area during our stay. Although we experienced a couple minor problems, Brian the owner, was quick to respond to the emails we sent him. We hope to return again and stay longer next time.

“Fabulous place for a large group” We can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was in the Amara Penthouse. Four couples stayed for eight days and the space was great. We never felt crowded or like we were on top of each other. The private terrace was amazing. The views were spectacular and the added space was perfect for coffee in the morning while we planned our day, or using the grill in the evening to cook the fish we bought at the fresh fish market in town. The location is wonderful – located in the center of everything it seemed. We didn’t have far to walk if we wanted to go into Amara and we could walk the beach in both directions. If you look at the pictures and think the penthouse is nice, wait until you actually arrive – the pictures don’t do it justice. We found the owners extremely helpful and easy to work with. They offered suggestions on things to do and answered every question we posed. We highly recommend this rental property and hope to one day be lucky enough to stay there again.

We've just returned from Casa del Abrol Cantando and our hearts remain. This is a knock-out beautiful home overlooking the Zihuatanejo Bay. A big space designed with authentic details that continued to surprise and delight us. There are two outdoor patios with lush plants, magical lighting and all a short walk to the beach. We really enjoy this place! The owners very friendly, helpful, ready to assist at all times. Of course the pearl of the team is its Eduardo and Tania without whom our stay could not be as memorable as it turned out. Extraordinary sea view, enhanced by the tasteful neutral decoration and stylish furnishings, which are included in the price. Ixtapa Zihuatanjeo is the best beach to stay in Guerrero. There are many thinks to do outside during the day or night, the sea foof is delicious. Acapulco to Ixtapa is around 4 hours by bus. … see more
Romantic Villa on Zihuatanejo Bay *Seasonal Rates

...at least for two weeks. May 2015 will be five years for us staying at the lovely Casa del Platero and our 13th year in Zihuatanejo. We typically stay for two weeks and prefer the low season. We agree with all of the reviews that tell you how lovely the house and grounds are, how beautiful Playa Ropa is and about the great restaurants and local activities. And while we love the location, privacy of the house, having a pool to ourselves and the beach just steps away, what keeps us coming back to Casa del Platero are Mirella and Laco, the caretakers of the property. From the minute you arrive, they greet us like long lost relatives with cold beer and fresh guacamole. They are both so kind and friendly and more than willing to try accommodate any request we have. Mirella prepares breakfast every morning and upon request will prepare other meals. I highly recommend her huachinango de ajo. Laco arranges fishing trips and gone fishing with us as our guest: makes dinner reservations, so far as to driving to the restaurant to make the reservation when we couldn't reach them by phone; takes us to the "secret local" pozolerias on Thursdays and to la cancha on Sundays. They both go above and beyond to make our stay there stress-free and memorable. You can be in the most expensive and beautiful resort anyone has ever seen, but if you are treated poorly how beautiful is it really? Casa del Platero is beautiful, but all the more so because of Mirella and Laco. … see more
Casa Spadaro -Amazing 2 Story Beachfront Penthouse at Amara
A Real Treat

We adored staying in this lovely condo. When we walked through the doors it literally took our breath away. The view is spectacular, the condo is such a nice size and so well appointed and we just felt thoroughly spoiled. We kept pinching ourselves to see if it was real! The bedrooms worked out perfectly for our size of family. I loved listening to the waves at night and waking up to that view. I can't tell you how many photographs I took of those rocks, they changed color with the various moods of the sky. I couldn't keep my eyes off of them. We mostly hung out at the adult pool or on your upper deck. I have no idea where the days went, it seemed like they ended all too soon every day and I'd wonder what all I'd accomplished and really I'd have to admit it wasn't much, other than I did get through a lot of books. The weather was so fantastic too. We had a day of rain early on and then sun, glorious sun ever after. We loved Marabelle, the maid, and had Lillianna cook for us twice which was great. We used Mario any time we needed a cab, he was wonderful. We felt very well cared for. We had delicious dinners out, my favorite restaurants being Tentaciones (where we celebrated my husband birthday), Coconuts, and El Mare. New Years Eve was amazing. I'd never seen anything so spectacular in my life. The lanterns being sent out to sea to begin with, followed by LED lit balloons from the neighboring property, and then those fireworks that were so close and extravagant. Outstanding Vistas

Stayed for a month with spouse and had friends/family visit us. The most amazing views, in so much that many a night we decided to stay and cook and enjoy the evening view. We had Sylvia cook for us 2 times, both meals were great and very economical for 6 people. Loved having the pool to ourselves most days. As others stated, Punta Marina is high above La Ropa. We walked down to the beach and then usually caught a cab back to condo for around 40 pesos. For people with mobility issues be aware that there are lots of steps from condo to road, pool etc. Highly recommend to get a phone from Oscar so you can make dinner reservations and call a taxi. For those of you who want to watch television, just know that most channels are Spanish speaking. we wanted to watch the NHL playoffs but the channels were not offered, however for those who need a hockey fix just walk down to La Perla and they will put on any game for you. The barbecue uses briquettes/charcoal so you need to light them far in advance. I recommended to Oscar that having screens on the windows and sliding doors would enable one to sleep without air conditioning. We love Zihautanejo and Punta Marina . Amazing stay

Our third time back to Casa Nostra and it just gets better and better. Irma was again the perfect hostess and was always willing to help with our questions and requests. We spent many enjoyable afternoons In the pool watching out over the bay and enjoying the view. The place is just so easy to live in and enjoy!!
