Description

Claggan is a family holiday house which has been owned for 4 generations .It stands in its own garden, down a private drive surrounded by farmland with a view of the sea. It is quiet but not remote.

The village of Bridgend is 1km away, with a hotel/ pub, an excellent post office /general store ,fuel and a hairdresser. The capital Bowmore is aprox 5km, with a large Co-op, hospital ,doctor's surgery, vet etc.

The farmhouse sleeps 12 comfortably, all the bedrooms are a good size and 5 have hand basins. There are 5 twin bedded rooms and 1 double. A cot and a Z bed are also available. There are 2 bathrooms and a further1 shower room. One bathroom also has a free standing seperate shower.

The living room is comfortable with an open fire and windows facing the sea. The kitchen /dining room is large well appointed and seats 12. The drying/utility room is big and efficient with hot pipes, racks and hooks for drying clothes ,wetsuits, wellies etc

Originally a cow byre, the games room is now attached to the house. It has table tennis ,snooker and football tables and plenty of seating. Perfect for teenagers!

“Fantastic!!!!!”

Just returned from a 5 day stay at claggan, family of 11 and 1 dog, 2 of which were aged 13 and the games room was a great hit, house is big enough to spread out and not feel on top of each other, big kitchen for all of us to eat together and living room big enough in evening to all sit and play bingo and have quiz nights, great location for trips out during the day and quick access to local well stocked shop for emergency eggs and baked beans!!! We came at the perfect time to see many baby lambs being born right outside the front door. We will be back and thank you for everything. Amanda

“Perfect place to stay for my family of 11, plus dog!”

Five adults and six children, plus dog, had a great time at Claggan Farmhouse, situated in a good position for both ferry terminals and only a few minutes by car from the wee shop at Bridgend and 5 minutes from the lovely town of Bowmore The accommodation was excellent, just like a home from home, kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were extremely comfortable, with lovely fresh bedding. The games room was enjoyed by both adults and children and the sitting room was just the perfect spot to relax. Hope to go back to Claggan for a longer stay next year, for my 70th birthday!
