Description from owner

Description

Spindrift is situated right by the sea. Nearly every window has the most amazing sea views, perfect for a beach holiday, or activity holiday, or walking on the coastal path, exploring Anglesey, or simply relaxing in the house and enjoying the view.

It comfortably sleeps 6, in 3 bedrooms, and has beds for 7, (based on 3 sharing the downstairs bedroom.

Up to two well behaved pets are welcome, although the garden is not dog proof due to the low wall, it is largely enclosed.

Hopefully we have thought of everything you need to help you have a delightful stay. We supply all bedlinen, and two towels per person too, as you can never have too many towels by the beach! Electricity and Wifi access are all included in the price, and the property has full central heating, as well as underfloor heating in the entrance hall and both bathrooms.

Further details indoors

The deceptively spacious house hopefully contains everything you will need for a relaxing stay. Superb views of the sea. There is a well equipped kitchen with microwave, hob, electric oven, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer, pots, pans, etc. We have even got a cake tin in case you fancy baking. The kitchen dining area is an L-shape, with amazing views. The dining table looks out through patio doors to the sea, and the Cemaes Bay beach, so you can enjoy the view while you eat. There is a separate L-shaped open plan relaxed sitting area, with comfortable leather sofas, and a huge winow with views right round from Wylfa headland to Cemaes beach. From here you can watch for dolphins feeding off the point, the sun dropping into the sea, or the ships cruising across the horizon. Around the corner of the L- shape from this is theTV/games area, with a flat screen TV with freeview, surround sound and DVD player. The surround sound also plays ipods, so do bring your music. There is also a coffee table, and a selection of games including Monopoly, Blokus, Chess etc, cards, for any rainy days - after you have come back from all the rainy day activities outside of course! iPods can be charged through the TV, an there are mobile phone charger sockets in the kitchen. There is another sofa and more chairs in this area for comfortable TV/games. The kitchen areas is completely new for 2019, as is the sunroom, for those of you who are regular visitors, we've replaced the old conservatory with a permanent sun room as part of the house now, and moved the kitchen. Master Bedroom - Upstairs (Sleeps 2) This bedroom has the very best sea views with 2 windows both overlooking the sea, the double bed is orientated, and lifted up so you can see out of both, and enjoy amazing views while you sip your first cup of tea or coffee in the morning. Second Bedroom - Upstairs (Sleeps 2) This is the largest bedroom, with plenty of space for a cot. Contains two single beds. There is plenty of storage space, with a wardrobe, and set of drawers. and a stunning sea view. Downstairs Bedroom (Sleeps 2/3) Three sleeper bunk-bed. Double bed on the bottom, and single bunk on the top. It is a Jay-be bed, so substantial. While I cannot call this a bedroom with a sea view, the sea can still be glimpsed even from this room. Upstairs Bathroom Shower, sink and toilet. Probably the best view from a shower in the world! The bath shower is P shaped, so the shower has plenty of room. Also has heated towel rail. Downstairs Bathroom Shower (with foldaway seat), sink, toilet and heated towel rail. Tiled floor with underfloor heating. Entrance Hall. Great area for wet dogs, with a fitted cupboard containing the tumble dryer and washing machine, and underfloor heating to help dry everything out.

Further details outdoors

There is space for 2 cars to park outside the property, please park on the tarmac facing the sea,not the gravel, but leave room at the end for Beacon cottage parking, there is space for 3 cars in a row, and we have the 2 spaces nearest Spindrift, and further parking outside the cul de sac if needed. There is a small garden at the back of the house, with a gate leading onto the coastal path. It is a great place to sit outside in the sunshine, and has a substantial picnic bench, that you can move to the sunniest spot, and enjoy the amazing view of the beach and the bay. There is also a Weber barbeque in the shed at the back of the house, near where you park, and an outside tap for rinsing off sandy wetsuits. The nearby village of Cemaes Bay has most things you might need for your stay, including an excellent butchers shop, chemist, Post Office, fish and chip shop, the Village venture for local crafts, second hand books etc, tea shops, Art gallery, pubs, beach shop, and a convenience store open 7 days a week, to name just some. Please shop locally where you can, to help keep the village as thriving as it is.

Response from the owner Thank you for your review, the damage from Storm Arwen has been repaired, and there will be some extra roof work shortly to ensure it doesn't happpen again, but it was quite an exceptional storm, there is now a photo up in the lounge of Storm Arwen waves in front of the house. Lovely to hear you are a regular visitor, and hope we can welcome you back soon.

“There is no need to compromise on standards”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2021

Spindrift is excellent. The location is everything one could wish for in a beach holiday, especially as dogs are allowed. The owners provide facilities of the highest standard and for once there are good showers and comfortable beds, which are usually, in my experience, aspects of the holiday cottage booking, where compromise is required. We are returning in August!
