Finish good but basics poor.

Left on Jul 15, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Lovely looking cottage in a beautiful setting ideal for touring County Durham. Nicely decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean.

On the down side, the mattress was old, hard and lumpy and a high round window facing the bed let in light at dawn. Also, the fridge/freezer is in the living room, diagonally opposite the kitchen - not ideal. Kitchen cupboards abnormally high - ok if you're tall. …

Brilliant owner, fantastic house, wonderful area.

Left on Dec 15, 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Second weekend stay here for our group ( friends who work together). We loved it so much in July, we couldn't wait to get back for Christmas. The house is cosy and comfortable, and can easily sleep 11adults if 3 of them don't mind inflatable beds. It is clean and warm, and the poem log fire in the sitting room is wonderful. There is a log burner in the dining room too. The owner has thoughtfully…
