Description from owner

Description

The Old Granary at Shortlands Farm is a traditional stone barn which has been tastefully renovated and modernised to provide a comfortable cottage with all mod-cons whilst preserving the rustic feel and original features.

The Old Granary is laid out on a single level so is accessible to all, from babies to the elderly.

There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living/dining/kitchen space, and a generous terrace within a grassy garden with stunning sea views. The cottage sleeps 6 (or 8 with the sofabed) in two double rooms - one with sofabed, and one twin room.

There is a bathroom with toilet and shower over the bath, and a shower room with toilet.

The fully fitted and well equipped kitchen (with dishwasher) has a large oak dining table and chairs, and the living space has two sofas and two armchairs, along with a Smart TV and stereo.

We can provide a travel cot and highchair if required. There is underfloor heating throughout as well as a wood burning stove (with fireguard) to ensure the cottage is cosy and warm during even the wildest Welsh weather.

From the kitchen there are double glass doors out to the large slate terrace and grassy garden from which you can enjoy the incredible sea views and sunsets over St Brides Bay.

We welcome up to 2 dogs per booking (deposit required).

Situated in a quiet spot on a family farm, The Old Granary is the perfect escape from city life whilst still being within walking distance of amenities.

The beautiful beach of Druidston Haven is a 15 minute walk, where you can swim, surf, fish, horse ride, or just enjoy the impressive cliffs and expanse of golden sand.

“A wonderful Cottage”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2016

A great cottage even in February's wet and windy season, Warm with underfloor heating and a great log burner. The kitchen is well kitted out with plenty of space throughout. Fantastic views out to sea from the front of the cottage and good dog walks from your door step. Our favorite Pub for drinks and meals was the Druidstone, ten minute walk. The owners were great and will be there if you need them. Thank you to Kate & Luke, Kids. Sorry for the late review

“returning after ten years to find it even more lovely”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2016

The Old Granary had been extended since we came ten years ago and is now large and spacious inside, calm and tasteful in style, all whites, blues and greys, with a large patio looking out to sea, two lovely bathrooms and also a well equipped kitchen. There were six of us staying there and there was ample space for all of us. I loved it and would happily move in and live there for good if I had the choice! The area surrounding the cottage is beautiful, there are days out to be had on foot, as well as those requiring a 15-20 minute car ride. I particularly enjoyed taking the dog down to the beach in the mornings, the local one at Druidstone being very quiet and unspoilt. Definitely want to come back.
