Welcome to 2CS Richmond, North Yorkshire, a new luxury holiday cottage, neatly inserted behind a “chocolate box” facade of Georgian properties, grouped around a famous cobbled stone market place, guarded by a Norman Castle and its imperious Keep. All attractions, shops, pubs, restaurants, cinema, transport, theatre, museums, markets, the wondrous river Swale with breathtaking views and inspiring waterfalls are nothing more than strolling distance from our cottage through a secret door, to which you hold the key.

Getting around

Richmond is suited to walking, cycling and touring by car. Its close proximity to Darlington and Northallerton give it excellent rail national rail connections with regular bus services to local destinations and beyond. Local taxis are plentiful.

Interaction with guest

As owners, we aim to provide the best service we can both before you arrive at our property and during your stay. During the booking process, we try to respond quickly and we are happy to answer all and any questions. Once you have booked, we maintain close contact with our guests to complete all the administrative and housekeeping details. Although we do not live on site, we are represented by our closest friends and between us we are on hand throughout your visit. We are from Richmond originally and regularly visit our family and friends. We have an extensive knowledge of the town and its surroundings and we are happy to offer advice on things to do. Equally, we recognise that some guests prefer their own space.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
