Description

Newhome Cottage is a small self contained detached cottage ideal for two people wanting to visit Harrogate and the local area. A detached light single storey building with bed/sitting room, kitchen with microwave and mini oven, bathroom, central heating and ample parking.

Harrogate is a centre for conferences and exhibitions and the cottage is only 5 miles from the town centre with Ripon 5 miles away and both Leeds and York 20 miles.

The Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors are also within easy reach.

“Cosy accommodation in quiet location.”

Very lovely cosy place for an ‘a deux’ break. Handy for Knaresborough and Fountains abbey, very quiet location. Well equipped kitchen, nice walk in shower.

“Cleanliness needs a serious look at”

Response from the owner This is a devastating review. I do not recognise this description of my cottage as testified by 86 positive reviews. If you had pointed out the problem when you arrived I could have seen it for myself and sorted it out. Instead you messaged me while you were out and told me you’d had to clean it. I had no opportunity to see for myself how bad it was. Surprisingly I had guests who left a few hours before your arrival who had nothing but positive things to say. I very much regret that you found spider webs. We are in the countryside and spiders are a nuisance. On this occasion I failed to see some of the cobwebs and obviously hadn’t checked behind pictures and in wall light fittings as you did.. Your suggestion that this hadn’t been done for months is simply untrue, but thank you for pointing out your findings. This is not something I will slip up on again. I do not accept your complaint about the bedding, this was freshly laundered, line dried in the fresh country air, and ironed. It is, however now unusable as when you left there was a large dark red stain on a pillowcase and through to the pillow itself which you can’t fail to have been aware of but didn’t mention. After 3 washes the stain remained so I will replace the set. These things happen sometimes and I generally accept them as part of the job, Future guests can rest assured the cottage will be clean and as clear of spiders as possible, and bedding will be clean and fresh, as it always has been

bought this as a christmas present for my parents and they said it was wonderful, the house is lovely and in a perfect location as it is close to lots of other places and things to do. would recommend :)

“Excellent Choice”

We have just returned after having a 4 night stay at Newhome Cottage. This is a beautifully tranquil place to stay while only being 15-20 minutes away from many attractions and walks. The accommodation is excellent with everything that you would need and Hilary who greeted us on arrival is an excellent host. Thoroughly enjoyable stay
