Description

Grange Farm is a large house and provides Self Catering Accommodation. The child friendly holiday cottage provides self catering accommodation for up to 14 people and is ideal for multi-generational groups. The house has two sitting rooms, a large dining room with log burner. There is a well equipped kitchen, a utility room and a conservatory.

There are five bedrooms. It is suitable for large groups, a family holiday or for friends wanting to holiday together.

Grange Farm holiday cottage is located in the village of High Hawsker, on the Yorkshire Coast. Mid way between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay, 2.5 miles from each. Both towns can by reached by foot in less then one hour. Grange Farm is an excellent base to explore the Yorkshire Coast and the North Yorkshire Moors. There are plenty of activities in the area. Amongst others walking, cycling and of course exploring the little alleys and streets of Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.

Ground floor- One sitting room with vaulted ceiling, large leather sofa's and music system.- Dining room with log burner and seating for 14 people. Selection of books and magazines. - Kitchen + utility room- WC - Second sitting room with, TV, DVD player and music system.- Hallway, leading to large conservatory / sun room and a south facing fenced garden and patio area.First floor- One family room with double bed and bunk-beds, and one family room with king size bed and bunk beds. Please note that the top bunk is not suitable for children under the age of 6. - Two twin rooms. - Bathroom with bath (shower over bath), sink and WC.- Second separate WC. Second FloorAttic conversion (sloping ceiling), into an excellent bedroom with a king size bed, and en-suite bathroom/WC.Other information - Linen (duvets) is included. - All the bedrooms have a TV and a wash basin. - You need to bring your own towels, or you can hire towels from us for £ 4 per person per week. - Electric, full gas central heating and hot water is included in the rental price. - Two travel cots, two high chairs, and stair-gate are available.- Baby changing mat is available.- All the beds have mattress protectors.- All the bedrooms have black out blinds or curtains.- There is a children's step present in the main bathroom.- The log burner has a fire guard. - Some children's cutlery, plates and cups are present in the kitchen.- There is a hand-blender in the kitchen. - There is a book library for adults, and there are also books and toys for children. - On the starting day of your holiday, you can enter the house at 4pm. On day of departure, please leave the house by 10 am.- Private parking for up to 4 cars is next to the house. Due to the age of the farmhouse, Grange Farm holiday cottage has some steps on the ground floor, as well as a few narrow and low doorways downstairs and upstairs, which gives the property its unique character.

Getting around

The village of High Hawsker can be reached by bus from Scarborough and from Middlesborough. There is also a train station in Whitby. Bus 93 goes through the village. A car is recommended but is it possible to get to Grange Farm without a car. There are plenty of taxi services in the area as well.

“Grange Farm Cottage”

We has a great time staying at Grange Farm Cottage. It was big and clean and well maintained. There are only 2 bathrooms and one of those is ensuite. It wasn't really a problem though as there are 2 other separate loos. It's in a great position for getting out and about. There is a 1.5 hour loveky walk into Robin's Hood Bay and it is not far from Whitby and Scarborough. The kitchen is a bit dated but was well equipped. We were a party of 6 adults and 7 kids and I would definitely recommend. Denise, who runs the Cottage was very helpful and accommodating.
