‘Le Fayet Haut’ is situated near the village of Lacombe, 20 minutes by car from Carcassonne, in the woodland mountain range the ‘ Montagne Noire’.
The house with swimming pool lies in a large fenced in garden guaranteeing a maximum amount of privacy. The house sleeps 8, has central heating and a large open fire place. On the ground floor there is a dining room, a sitting room, two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and two wash basins, a separate WC and the fully equipped kitchen. The sitting room leads onto the terrace facing south with a stunning view of the Pyrenees. In the second floor there are two more bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate WC.

“Lovely holiday retreat”
We stayed with 3 small children in le fayet, and had the most relaxing time. The great pool makes the holiday, and the sheltered location in the mountain means temperatures are lovely when it's too hot in Carcassonne. The accommodation is like a home away from home, there's literally everything you need, plenty of books and magazines, and the kids have their domain upstairs which keeps clutter and noise away. A very charming house, remote enough to switch off but close enough to lots of things to do...the owner is very helpful with lots of details about the house and the area. Would highly recommend it if you want to discover a beautiful region, or just stay by the pool!

“Beautiful family home in idyllic French countryside”
Le Fayet Haut is a beautiful home lovingly restored and furnished as a second family home. Everything we could have needed was to be found there including inflatables for the pool which the kids adored and books galore for the adults! We spent a wonderful 2 weeks there this July with 4 kids aged 7,8,10 and 14, us parents and my parents. The house sleeps 8 comfortably and the kids even had their own quarters with bathroom, bedrooms and living room, all upstairs. The house sits in a large garden given over to grass, perfect for running around in, the pool has the sun most of the day and is fully equipped with parasols and loungers, and there is a view of the Pyrenees in the distance. We went into Carcassonne a couple of times which was great and we also explored the local villages, Montolieu the book village, Lastours with the chateaux ruins and Fontier Cabarde with its musical evenings. All in all a perfect break in the perfect place.
