“Perfect for our needs.”5 of 5 starsReviewed June 16, 2015 NEWCentrally located for where we needed to be. Around the corner from Kaua'i Inn where other family members stayed, Na Hoa Hale was the perfect gathering place for extended family members to share supper and visit inside and on the lanai. The house had every item we could have asked for to make cooking large meals simple, just like home. Comfortable sleeping arrangements, nice bath towels, clear instructions. A great experience. This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
Charming country 3 bedroom, 2 bath Kauai vacation rental home, just 10 minutes from the Lihue Airport. This delightful vacation home is tucked away in the small community of Niumalu with spectacular views of the Ha'upu Mountain Range, Hulei'a River and “peek a boo” ocean view looking across the Nawiliwili Harbor & Hule`ia River.
Na Hoa Hale is just ten minutes from Lihue Airport, five minutes to Kalapaki Beach, close to grocery stores, Costco and Kukui Grove Shopping Center.
Comfortably furnished, this Kauai vacation home sleeps 6 with a queen bed in master bedroom with master bath, queen bed in 2nd bedroom and a full size bed in third bedroom. There is a second full bathroom in hallway. Enjoy your outdoor lanai overlooking the Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor and watch the sunrises over Haupu Mountain. Waterfalls abound during the winter season. Gas BBQ in your front yard and a fully equipped kitchen allows you to have a "home away from home" feel at the Nahoa Hale. TV, complimentary wifi, DVD, CD player, gas BBQ grill and washer/dryer complete all of your needs.
Na Hoa "House of Friends" River Home is five minutes to Kalapaki Beach! Learn to surf, stand up paddle, kayak & swim at this nearby popular beach. Beach rentals available on beautiful Kalapaki Beach. This was an absolutely wonderful home!! We couldn't have asked
For a better place to stay! Everything we needed was already there!
The location was great, we loved it when there was a cruise ship in the
Harbor, you can see it from the deck!! It truely felt like a home away from
Home (I personally liked it better than my own home!)
We can't say thank you enough to the owners and rental company
For making our trip so enjoyable!!
We do advise not to leave food out on the counters as being in the tropics, we do have ants and bugs at times even in the best of properties. We do agree this is a great home with close easy access to the south shore and east side. Aloha!

“Cozy home with noisy roosters”

The house was great and met all of our needs except air conditioning. Once we figured out that opening all the windows and turning on the fans cooled the house down quickly, we were fine. The location is nice and quiet as far as tourist & road noise goes. However, Kauai has roosters and chickens everywhere and the roosters start cocka-doodle-dooing at 2am and go on most of the day. It's a bit frustrating trying to sleep past 2am. Part of the problem may be the caged Hen house that someone has built on the property behind the house. The wifi was not consistently available, might take a hot spot.
We enjoyed our stay, opened the house up when we returned in the evening, sat outside, and I slept with earplugs. This property helped us relax and enjoy our stay. Banana trees and many other plants all around the house help keep it cool, with the ocean breeze and are a nice touch to the atmosphere of the house.

This is a delightful home in a pretty neighbourhood close to the port. There is some hustle and bustle (which we enjoyed) with the canoe club across the road and the various houses roundabout and the port can be a little noisy in the morning but the accommodation is really comfortable with great equipment in the kitchen and comfy sofas in the living area. It is not airconditioned but there is a pretty constant breeze off the river which comes through the jalousies and the fans work really well - we were very comfortable at all times. The house has some very attractive carved wooden features and is nicely furnished throughout. Three bedrooms, one on-suite, are all pretty comfortable, and the bathrooms work - one with a walk in shower and one with a jet tub and shower. The master bedroom bed and counters are a bit low for the average sized person but not impossibly so. There is a large shopping center about 4 to 5 minutes away by car with a good sized supermarket and also CostCo. Lihue airport is about 10 minutes away by car but we were never bothered by the air traffic. Don't be put off by the road into the neighbourhood which goes through the small port and looks a bit industrial - the area around the house is very nice. There isn't much garden/yard around the house but next door's is beautifully kept up so you don't notice the lack. One important thing, the storage, washing machine and dryer (good quality) additional bathroom etc are all on the ground/first floor and the living accommodation is upstairs on the upper floor so this is not suitable for people with difficulty going up stairs. This area is a little more rainy than closer to Poipu but it is really beautiful, with lovely hills rising behind the house.

From the moment I started inquiring and all throughout our stay, I received outstanding customer service from Sue and Greg. The property itself was exactly as described and had an amazingly outfitted kitchen. It was nice to be out of the hussel and bussel of the main tourist strip, yet central enough to easily access all parts of the island by car. This was a perfect location and had the room and flexibility for a family of four. A exceptionally well-equipped and cared for property with outstanding service. I would definitely go back as well as recommend this to anyone planning a trip to Kauai.
Mahalo for your kind review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed Nahoa River Hale (Home). It is a beautiful property tucked away in the village of Niumalu; yet close to shops, etc. We do look forward to having you back with us! A hui hou...until we meet again!

very nice house, all bedrooms nicely decorated, two bathrooms were perfect, kitchen was amazing, slightly overpriced
Aloha and mahalo! We do agree that Nahoa River Hale (house) is a very nice home and it does have a great kitchen. $150 per night for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with full ktchen, lanai and gas outdoor grill for 4 people seems to be affordable rate for a private home.

5 stars, 6 if I could. Great place. Very homey feeling. I stayed their for a month and was sad to leave. The river / parking lot across the street can get little loud and trashy at times, but that is the only negative. Ohh, and I guess the Roosters might bother some people, but we got used to it pretty quick.
