A lovely well equipped cottage. Very clean with splendid views. On our first day saw a herd of deer feeding infront if the cottage. It would be a great place to stay any time of year.

“Don't miss a great stay at Meall Dubh”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2016

Meall Dubh is a traditional croft cottage which has been beautifully renovated. It is well maintained and clean and has a great layout with wonderful views of the coastal and mountain scenery of Assynt. The cottage's warmth and comfort is a delight to return to at the end of a day of walking or touring the countryside. There are many wonderful places to visit whether you like walking or driving. Just a short drive away are the beautiful sandy beaches of Achmelvich and Clachtoll as well as other hidden beaches. Just along the road to the Stoer Lighthouse and the Old Man of Stoer or into Lochinver where you can walk River Inver and Glencanisp circuit are but two of many walks in the area. A meal at the Kylesku Hotel is also a great way to end the day after perhaps a trip to Handa Island. We have visited this rugged and awesome part of Scotland three times staying at Meall Dubh and would highly recommend it so that you too can experience all it has to offer.
