Description

Lake Rescue Chalet is a large, cozy 6-bedroom chalet with three boats and a hot tub, and easy access to world-class skiing in winter. With six bedrooms, two kitchens and two living/dining areas, and two huge decks, you’ll find plenty of room for your group of family or friends.

The chalet sleeps 12 people on two levels that each feature full open-floor-plan living areas – including a kitchen/living/dining room – and three bedrooms apiece! Upstairs and down are connected by a custom-crafted wood-and-wrought-iron spiral staircase. Each level has its own bathroom, gas fireplace and large-screen smart TV. It's a terrific home for families and friends who want to spend time together but also cherish their privacy.

LOCATION

Lake Rescue Chalet is four hours from NYC and three hours from Boston, centrally located to easily access the nearby villages of Ludlow, Woodstock and Rutland. The Echo Lake Inn is half a mile away, making this the perfect location to stay for a wedding weekend. The house is just 3 1/2 miles from Okemo’s Jackson Gore area and 12 miles from Killington’s Skyship lift.

• Kick a ball around the expansive lawn

• Walk to our dock, two minutes away up a dirt road, and go boating, swimming or fishing

• Pick wild black raspberries on the way

• Catch frogs and salamanders when you get there

CONDITIONS

Renters must adhere to Vermont state guidelines for COVID-19 safety, including self-quarantining before arrival, providing copies of drivers' licenses, and adhering to self-monitoring for coronavirus symptoms.

9% VT lodging tax, $200 cleaning and hot tub will be added to total rent, as well as a $500 refundable security deposit.

A winter seasonal rental is available; just ask for rates and info.

Up to 2 pets are permitted under certain conditions with advance arrangement; please ask!

Getting around

You need to drive. Roads are quickly cleared in winter. There is a ski shuttle from Okemo that runs in the morning and afternoon and stops at the end of the road. (May not run in winter 2020-21 due to COVID-19 restrictions)

Interaction with guest

Contactless check-in and check-out. We will send you a combination to get into the house, as well as a virtual packet of info about the house and the area. Our property manager lives nearby should you have any house issues.

Response from the owner Thanks for the info on the shaky banister; we will have the property manager fix it right away. The fridge and bathroom don't really leak. In the lakes region we get a lot of condensation when it's hot and humid, and it can seem like a leak. The chalet was built in the 70s, so there is a lot of knotty pine, as well as antique dressers and chairs in the bedrooms. Some would call it dated, some would call it rustic and charming.

We were very pleased with the rental and would stay again in a moment's notice. The area was great, good fishing and boating, and the amenities in the cabin and at Okemo were vary nice.
