Description

We are located 6 miles from Ruidosa, TX off the Hot Springs Road.

Surrounded with magnificent views of the Chinati mountains, Cleveland mountains, and the Sierra Madres of Mexico, this is the ideal location for experiencing the magic of the Chihauhan desert landscape and dark skies with stars that go on forever. Located on 280 private acres, where you will enjoy hiking trails, that include a deep arroyo with trickling cool springs.

The quiet serenity is yours to enjoy, as you will be the only guests vacationing on the property. Perfect place to focus on your art, reading, or quiet time to reflect.

Please note: there is no internet or television at the guest home. . There is internet connection that may be accessed from the owner’s deck. We provide a TV with built in DVD player, but no TV service is provided.

You will need to bring food to prepare, as the nearest restaurant is in Presidio, 40 miles away. We have well water for showering and dishwashing. We provide bottled water for drinking and coking. You may want to bring some small water bottles for hiking.

Our property has hiking trails spanning the beautiful rolling dessert terrain. Also there is a deep arroyo that runs through the property where rock hunting and collecting is a delight.

We have created a labyrinth for you to enjoy.

We allow up to 2 pets for $25 a day. Pups enjoy hiking free from a leash with their owners.

Getting around

Perfect Place to mountain bike. 280 acres of trails + the Hot Springs Road and Pinto Canyon. Round trio, 40 miles of beautiful hills at the foothills of the Chinati Mountain Range.

Interaction with guest

Our permanent residence is in Alpine, TX . We have our vacation home on the property about 250 yards from the guest home. If we are there at the time of your visit, we welcome you visiting with us. We will not interact with you uninvited. We provided information in the guest home about hiking in the area and also maps of our 280 acre property that you are free to explore to your heart’s desire. Many beautiful rocks are on the property, especially in the arroyo, including a rock gallery that I, family, friends and guests add to. I provide acrylic paints and brushes for you to paint with.

House rules

Pets are allowed, but must discuss house rules with owners. Pet Fee is $25 per night for up to 2 pets. Animals must not be left alone in the home at any time. Please do not allow pets on furniture or beds.
Smoking is allowed out on the deck, but not in the home. We have a ramp at the back that is convenient for bringing in luggage, ice chests, etc.
There are no restaurants in the area, so please bring your food and also drinking water. Please remove all generated trash upon checking out.
