Additional Location Information

We are part of the Flint Hills Region of Kansas and right next door to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve and the Z Bar Ranch. National Geographic's April 2007 issue examines the beautiful Flint Hills of Kansas through the lens of respected photojournalist and Kansas native, Jim Richardson. The 22-page feature section, titled "The Flint Hills: A Kansas Treasure" captures a glimpse of the majesty of this unique Kansas prairie-land.
The Marion Reservoir has plenty of room for water sports and jet skiers. There are plenty of places to go bird watching , bicycling and hiking around the Reservoir as well. If you do decide to bicycle be sure to have fat tires on your bike for traveling gravel & dirt roads.
There is nothing as refreshing and rejuvenating as an escape into the quietness of nature. Our area has an abundance of wildlife, including whitetail deer, Canadian geese, Mallard ducks, wild turkey, ring neck pheasant, bobwhite quail, and beaver. The nights are dark enough to see myraids of stars and the milky way. If you enjoy wandering through the wildlife and parks lands we would be glad to direct you to some prime areas on our guided hiking trips. Winter is the best time for hiking around here so bundle up and let’s go!
