Description
The charming Hollyhock Guesthouse, located in the quaint town of Mitchell, is a cozy one bedroom cottage ideal for a romantic getaway but can easily accommodate 2 guests.
The cottage is well equipped with everything needed to make it the perfect base to explore this breathtaking area with comfortable furniture, high quality beds, and European down comforters. Beautiful Landscape paintings of the area, painted by the owners father, and other international art give the place an artsy ambient. The kitchen is stocked with a great set of herbs and spices, olive oil, and fresh eggs from our own chickens (when available). A lovely floral garden surrounds the property giving you all the privacy and beauty needed to have a great vacation. We invite you to pick seasonal fruits and feast your senses at all the colors and smells.The newly remodeled bathroom has a large step in shower with a great rain shower head and features organic soap, shampoo, and conditioner as well as abundant fluffy towels. The water comes from the towns own spring and is great for drinking. Fill your bottles!
The internationally famous Painted Hills, one of the 3 units of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, is only 9 miles away from town. There are many areas to explore and the other 2 units of the National Monument are easy to reach by driving the awesome "Journey through Time" scenic byway. Come discover the wild beauty of this area with its mountains, grasslands, untamed rivers, canyons and rugged landscapes. This area is Mother Nature at her finest!
