“perfect location, perfect accommodation” This is a perfect cottage for two. It is surprisingly spacious, with a very well appointed kitchen, comfortable seating, exceptionally large bathroom with plenty of hot water. It is spotlessly clean. The added bonus is the parking space and proximity to ambleside. Wifi would have been the icing on the cake but there were plenty of wifi cafes and pubs in ambleside. The booking procedure and key arrangements were straight forward. We loved it and will be going back later this year

“Fantastic Rental Cottage” We stayed at Swallow's nest for our anniversary in Sept 11. The interior was finished to a very high standard, it was like staying in a 5 star hotel. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed buying the amazing produce of the lake district and cooking it up back at the cottage, enjoying the views as we ate. The location is good, close to Penrith town centre, and good transport links into the Lake District. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back.

“Great break after recent hospital treatment.” Good welcome pack in accommodation which was appreciated. The cottage was excellent for our requirements with a pet labrador. The location was well placed for touring Cumbria and the Lake District. Although we did not take advantage of the amenities they appeared well managed and very good. We liked the available walks through the valley especially with our dog. Although no doubt temporary ongoing contruction work made for very muddy conditions on the approach to the cottage. The settee was not the most comfortable for a weeks stay.

“Fantastic Group MTB Honeymoon!” We stayed at White Gables in end of april 2013 as part of a group of 12 Mountain Bikers. We were actually all on the honeymoon of two of the riders who had got married during the week! We had such a fantastic stay, in fact it was no less than perfect! The welcome was fantastic by the owners who we felt couldn't do enough for us. The property itself is spacious, modern, clean and warm and the layout suited us down to the ground with the lounge and kitchen area perfect for communal living, seating large groups comfortably. There are plenty of lovely bathrooms for all which is ideal when you are mountain biking and the property is situated very close to the local pub which is perfect for a group of bikers. We also had a meal there which was fantastic. So sorry for all the 'perfects' and 'fantastics' but I can't find any other words to describe our stay at White Gables. Book with confidence...we will be returning hopefully soon!
