Description

Badenoch, standing in its own grounds, has a wide outlook over the Strath of the Upper Spey to the Cairngorms; the Monadhliath Mountains lie behind.

It is an ideal base for any group wishing to enjoy walking, climbing, golfing, fishing, in the beautiful surroundings of the Cairngorm National Park. Ideal also for extended family groups - or, indeed, for smaller groups who just want to have lots of space!

Open fields to the front. River Spey, village and golf course within 3 minutes walk. There is a fairly large, quite new Coop store with fresh meat, fresh baking, fruit and veg, wine and spirits - open till 10pm at night. Several restaurants and coffee shops and bars and a takeaway.

A very friendly village with just tons of things to do within a few minutes or, if you want to go further afield, you can go to Fort William in an hour by car, to Inverness in 45 minutes, to Perth in an hour. The railway station is just down the road and can take you north or south without effort. There is a local bus service. The nearest airport is Inverness.

Getting around

You can come to Newtonmore and spend the whole time without a car. The train station is a few minutes walk away. There are buses that stop in the village. But most of all you can walk for miles all around the area or sit and relax in the house with family and friends. The local Coop store has a wide stock of food and drink. With a car you can reach North, West, East and Central Scotland with ease within a day.

Interaction with guest

You will be met at Badenoch - probably by the owner Yvonne - and given the keys. Any questions you might have can be answered then or at a time to suit yourselves - perhaps the next day once you have settled in. Once you have the keys the house is yours to enjoy and to look after as your own. Yvonne is always at the end of a phone if you need help with anything. Before you come you are most welcome to ask any questions about the house or the area - restaurants etc. There is a drawer in the hall chest of drawers that has leaflets, maps, and general information about things to do.

“Perfect”

Our second visit to this house . Perfect for large groups with everything you need . Plenty to do on the doorstep and within short driving distance. A fun house , you will not be disappointed. Even if the weather is not kind there is plenty to occupy the younger members . A great party house .

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Yvonne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
