Description

Lorien is a modern Scandinavian style bungalow situated in the quiet centre of this popular village with a picturesque view up the River Nethy. Nethybridge is situated in a beautiful part of the Spey Valley and is found on the Coylumbridge / Grantown road about 12 miles north-east of Aviemore. The village lies on either side of the River Nethy and borders Dell Wood and Abernethy Forest. The property has four bedrooms - two double bedrooms, a triple room with bunks and single bed, and a bunk room - a large lounge / dining room and kitchen. There is a bathroom (with separate shower) and a shower room. There is also a study with a futon, which could sleep an extra guest with our agreement. The house is triple glazed with electric storage and panel heating, and a wood burning stove. A conservatory looks out onto an attractive garden and there is parking for two cars and a single garage.

“Great lodge in Nethy Bridge; perfect for families”

Lorien is a lovely lodge in Nethy Bridge, right next to the river, with easy access to all the walks by the riverside and in the forests. The property is spacious and comfortable, and everything worked. We really appreciated the wood-fired stove and the supply of logs - perfect for a frosty November. There were five of us staying along with our family dog, and the property could easily have accommodated a larger group. Being next to the shop was really useful, and the village playpark and tennis courts are also nearby. It’s also a short walk to the village hotel if you fancy a meal and a game of snooker. We enjoyed our stay, hope to come back again, and have recommended the lodge to our friends.

“Fantastic”

Really really good! I booked this place for a group of us to use as a base for getting in to the mountains and it was perfect. The instructions on how to find it and what to do in terms of water and heating were really well communicated from the owner. It was really well equipped and was a really nice place to relax and warm up after a day in typical Scottish winter mountain conditions! We didn’t really explore Nethy Bridge but what we did see was really nice. Some of the group went walking from the house along the Speyside Way and thoroughly enjoyed it. It didn’t take too long to get to Aviemore and Cairngorm so was really well situated for our needs. I’d definitely like to come back and will happily recommend this place.
