House of the 17th century, classified 3 stars, built on an old sheepfold located at the foot of the castle with breathtaking views in one of the most beautiful villages of BLACK PERIGORD. Ranked among the most beautiful villages in FRANCE. Detached house of 105 m2 with air conditioning on a closed ground of 1500 m2. Ground floor; a room with bed of 140 and bed of 90, bathroom, TOILET, tidying up. Ground floor: kitchen, dining room with table 6/8 people, living room with fireplace, covered terrace with table for 10 people. Floor: 1 bedroom with 160 bed and a bedroom with bunk bed 80, bathroom, toilet, shower. Equipments: • interior: dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee maker, robots, refrigerators, plus fridge-freezer, TV, WIFI • outside: heated swimming pool 8x4 with alarm, night lighting, embellished with a pergola vegetable, outdoor dining table in teak for 6/8 people, 7 sunbeds, barbecue, buoy, air mattress with inflator, french fries. The village offers entertainment at the castle, shops (butchery, charcuterie, bakery, pastry, grocery, bookstore, newsagent, hairdresser, restaurants), crossed by the Dordogne. At the heart of the valley of 5 castles, 13 minutes from Sarlat by car, 8 minutes from Domme, 5 minutes from Roque Gageac, 5 minutes from Beynac, 3 minutes from the gardens of Marqueyssaq, and 8 minutes from the castle Milandes. ~ 300m Canoe base, barges, (walk on the Dordogne by flat bottom boat) hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, several hooked branches nearby, balloon ride and gourmet restaurants in a radius of 2 to 10 kms. “La Bourgarde”
Couldn’t be better. House, garden, pool and location all superb. Private but not isolated. Great for the owner to check in by phone to ensure all ok (it always is).

“Wonderful”
We have hesitated to do this review because we were reluctant to share this gem of a find until we had secured our stay for next year (which we have now done). It really is a place that lifts the spirits when you drive in and take in the house and it's surroundings. The grandchildren were straight into the wonderfully clean and inviting pool. The covered area next to the house is much bigger than appears in the photographs and we spent many an evening enjoying the beautiful views ( whilst also being protected from a stunning thunder storm on our last night). We thoroughly appreciated all the love and thought that has clearly gone into providing guests with all that they need for a relaxed stay. Brilliantly situated 5 minutes walk down to the river and the same time up to the château - certainly challenged our fitness but in a good way. Many thanks to Christian and is team.

La maison est bien aménagée et très confortable. La piscine et la terrasse font de ce lieu un véritable lieu de séjour. “Superb location”
If you want to stay in Castelnaud, La Bourgarde is in the ideal location, very easy to reach from main road with ideal off road parking and within short walking distance to village/ castel. We were met by Emilie who explained the layout and gave us towels etc for our stay, one improvement ... more towels please as two each for the week was stretching it, especially with using the swimming pool and we didn't want to use the washing machine! The property is on three levels and everything is provided although the stairs to each level are quite steep so access could be a problem. We had very good weather averaged 24C so were able to use the outdoor covered area and pool, which was very clean. Property is also ideal location for touring local areas within a short distance and there were more than enough to see in a week. Lastly there are several restaurants in the village, but unfortunately non were open during the evenings, but all during the day of which the best by far was the LA COUR DE RECRE, less than 10 minutes walk away.

“ACC0MMODATION GOOD AND SPLENDID POOL SITUATED IN AN ATTRACTIVE VILLAGE WITH GOOD ACCESS TO BOULANGER ETC.”
The property is on 3 floors and was fine for grandparents, daughter, son-in-law and baby grandson. There was a fairly steep but short walk to the Chateau with restaurant and a few shops. It was a 20 minute walk to the main village giving access to a few shops and canoe and boat trips. Castlenaud is a good centre for seeing Sarlat, Rocamadour and the other popular towns and villages along the Dordogne.
