Description
This charming, cosy one bedroomed cottage within Hay on Wye is a little gem, ideal for a solo traveller or for a romantic break for two.
It has been updated to provide a luxurious and wonderfully homely cottage for your break away.
Located in town for the convenience of restaurants and pubs and of course the book shops but within the Brecon Beacon National Park, so great access to fun outdoor activities.
The stylish and cosy sitting room has a Smart TV, DVD and Freesat. There is a wood burner for those cosy nights in and a basket of wood is provided during the colder months. There is also a modern well equipped kitchen with dining area.
Upstairs is a surprisingly spacious bedroom with a luxurious king size bed and a shower room.
PLEASE NOTE: the stairs to the first floor are open plan and fairly narrow. If you have limited mobility or are unsteady please ensure you are happy with the description before you book. If you require any further information please enquire further.
Outside the back door is a small courtyard area for bins where walking boots and wet weather gear can be stored. This area gains access via steep narrow steps on a shared pathway leading to a small garden with seating and BBQ. Again please note the narrow steep steps description to the garden!
Ideally located within the beautiful market town of Hay. Visit the Thursday morning market and sample the local produce. Stroll around the old town and visit one of the many coffee shops. A perfect base for walking, biking and canoeing on the pretty River Wye.
The cottage is yours to relax in and enjoy your break. A fenced and gated garden at the rear belongs to the cottage so you will have exclusive access, however it is accessed via a communal path.
There is information at the cottage of local interesting places for you to visit. There is complimentary wi-fi at the cottage and is subject to fair use and terms and conditions highlighted in the information folder in the cottage.
All bedding and towels are provided but if you are bringing a dog and there is any likelihood of them climbing on the bed please bring your own bedding. But inform us at the booking stage so housekeeping knows not to make up the bed. ANY dirty muddy marks on the bedding will be charged for.
There is no parking at the cottage but there is free parking within 150 meters. It is possible to stop outside the cottage to unload.
ALSO NOTE: the cottage is situated within the market town of Hay on Wye, this means there will be traffic noise.

“Perfect stay”
Beautifully presented, super comfortable bed, cute dining area, lovely leather sofa/rocking chair. The stairs and steps outside are genuinely steep but perfectly safe. We had a bonza time.

“Ty Buchan”
1. It should be made clear that there is no parking in the immediate vicinity of the property - we eventually parked 1/3 mile away on the Brecon Road 2. The property does have a pleasant and well equipped bathroom, a comfortable bed and a dishwasher. 3. It should be pointed out that there is no fencing between properties to contain a lively dog.

Response from the owner For all potential future guests, we would politely like to highlight that it clearly states in the description of the property that there is no parking at the cottage. Information about three free parking areas within 150m of the cottage are provided by email once booked. The communal path from the back door leading to the private secure garden is also mentioned within the property description.

“Peaceful”
Take a good book with you; light the wood burning stove and you WILL forget the Northern Underground Tube Line (should you belong in London). Apart from a little stress unloading and loading outside (a fairly busy village road) we could not fault this delightful town cottage. (Easy parking nearby). And you also have a very quiet garden patch at the back were you can take your book. And when you have finished your book you will be hard pressed in not finding another....Hay is full of shops selling them!
