Description from owner

Description

La Gorce is a comfortable, well equipped home ideal for families. It is an excellent base for exploring the local area and gastronomy.

The local towns of Cenac et St Julien and Domme are both just a short drive away.

A 19th Century stone farmhouse, recently renovated to provide comfortable accommodation with enclosed gardens. The house has contemporary furnishings which complement the original stone features and exposed beams.

There are 3 good sized bedrooms which will accommodate 6 people comfortably. There is also a cot available for use should you require it.

In addition to the living accommodation there is a separate barn which houses laundry facilities.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher.

The property has an attractive, private pool area which can only be accessed through the barn. There is plenty of outdoor seating and a gas fired barbecue for al fresco dining plus a trampoline for children. We will provide use of a high-chair should you require it.

For those seeking a balance between relaxation and activity, La Gorce has much to offer. The property provides an excellent base from which to explore the many picture post-card towns and villages - Sarlat, Domme, and La Roque Gageac to name but a few. The area is well known for its many chateaux together with a wealth of pre-history - the exceptional sites at Lascaux and Les Eyzies are not to be missed! Lose yourself in the sites and sounds of the traditional French markets which are held on a daily basis in the nearby towns and villages. Canoes are available for hire just 10 minutes from La Gorce allowing for a leisurely trip down the Dordogne river – a wonderful way to see the surrounding area. Walking and cycling (two adult bikes and one children's bike are available at the house for guests to use) can be enjoyed on the quiet country lanes. There are flights to Bergerac from many UK destinations. There is also an airport at Brive (less than 1 hour to La Gorce) with flights from Stansted, Manchester and London City.
