Excellent base in the centre of the fascinating walled city of York
Situated within a converted Georgian building, this first floor city apartment enjoys high ceilings and contemporary furnishings. It is perfectly placed for exploring York, being just a few minutes' walk from Bootham Bar, the medieval gateway leading to the spectacular minster. The Theatre Royal and Yorkshire Museum and gardens are close by and the Treasurer's house, Merchant Adventurer's Hall, castle and railway museums are all within walking distance. Enjoy a river boat trip, walk the city walls and meander along the cobbled streets and Shambles with its overhanging timber-framed buildings. There are numerous real ale inns, traditional tea shops and a vast variety of restaurants and wine bars to suit all tastes. Shopping is in abundance centrally, as well as out of town shopping at Monks Cross and the designer outlet. Should you want to explore further afield, there are historic houses at Castle Howard and Beningborough Hall, the World Heritage site at Fountains Abbey, North Yorkshire Moors, the coastal resorts of Whitby and Scarborough, and the Yorkshire Dales are all easily accessible. Shop, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

“Ideal location”
The apartment is an ideal place for a city break for a couple close to the Minster and all the shops. Our stay was spoilt by a number of things which I'm sure can be sorted. Arrival time was arranged for 15.00 but on arrival the cleaning hadn't taken place. It took 2 hours for the cleaner to arrive and clean the apartment. Having spent some time travelling during the day 2 extra hours wasn't something we needed. Didn't get tea towel for a further 12 hours. As the bed hadn't been made on arrival we got to see the duvet. It was ripped badly in several places. Suggest a new one is bought. The mattress was smaller than the bed frame which meant we hit our legs on wooden frame everytime we got in and out of bed. The wooden frame needs tightening as it creaked everytime one of us moved in the night. In the visitor's book several people have commented that the toilet needs mending. The owner stated each time it had been fixed. It was still in need of attention. The apartment is situated in an old building which adds to the charm of it but means the windows are extremely high and long. We really struggled to reach to open them to let in air as we still like ventilation . Anyone on short size will find it impossible. If these things are sorted the apartment would be brilliant as a city break

“Great apartment, great location.”
We recently stayed at City3 for 4 nights. Absolutely fantastic apartment in a great location. Apartment had everything you needed, very clean and tastefully decorated. We even had a welcome bottle of wine from Frank the owner, this was a lovely surprise. Its just a few minutes walk from York minster so very central. Will be booking up again, if you're looking for a great centrally located apartment then this is it.

“Excellent Christmas Stay in York”
Another fantastic stay in this apartment. We stayed last year for a 30th birthday celebration and loved it, so returned this year for 3 nights over Christmas. The flat was festive and more than equipt to cook a full Christmas dinner, in an excellent location for all York's amenities and attractions. A really beautiful place to stay. York itself is perfect for Christmas, with a large Christmas market, friendly folk and party atmosphere. Also brilliant for hitting the sales on Boxing Day! Couldn't recommend more highly, would definitely stay again.
