The property, formally a Welsh long house has been tastefully restored and converted into two beautiful holiday Cottages. Both Cottages enjoy all modern conveniences whilst remaining full of character. The Castaways has two bedrooms and sleeps 4. Each property has its own private garden with table, chairs and BBQ. The Beautiful sandy beaches, Riding Centre, Anglesey Sea Zoo, Foel farm, and many other fabulous attractions are just a short drive away.

The essence of Penrhyn Mawr is one of peace and tranquillity; a chance to get away from the madding crowd and relax in this quiet location. Therefore, it is better suited to adults, and families with older children, who appreciate a quiet environment.

Downstairs:Entrance.Fully fitted cream country kitchen, with gas hob and electric oven, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle. The kitchen is very well equipped with cutlery, utensils, crockery, glasses and pans. The kitchen has a dining area with family sized table and chairs.Also downstairs is a spacious sitting room with living flame fire. Neutral decor, three piece cream suite and freesat TV, DVD player. A good selection of DVDs, books and games.Leading off the kitchen and sitting room is a downstairs cloakroom with WC and wash basin. Hanging area for coats etc.Upstairs :Bedroom 1: Master bedroom with 5 ft brass bed. Country furniture throughout. Great views across the the Menai Strait to the mountains of Snowdonia.Bedroom 2: Twin bedded room. Fitted wardrobe. Same views as the master bedroom.Modern bathroom with WC, basin, bath with shower facility. Wooden flooring.The cottage has full gas central heating and all electricity and gas is included in the cost. Fitted carpets throughout.Pillows and duvets are provided and visitors are asked to bring their own duvet covers, bottom sheets, pillow cases and towels.

Private enclosed garden . Dog friendly . Outside there is a gravelled area and a patio area with table, chairs and umbrella. A barbecue is also provided. There is a large private area laid to lawn for your use and ample parking space is available at the side of the property.Strictly no smoking.One well trained dog welcome.

“A green and pleasant place”

We've returned from a restful and enjoyable stay. The cottage was exactly as advertised, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The place was quiet and beautiful. What's not to like?

We are indeed a very peaceful location but still only 20 minutes from Menai Bridge and Brittania Bridge . Having Newborough beach so close is also a bonus ! Need a car for this location for food shopping or eating out. Don't forget to take bed linen - or your waterproofs!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your review. Great to meet you ! Delighted you found good relaxation too - it's what we do ! It's is true that we are not near to large shops and indeed Anglesey does necessitate a car for most places. Our local farm shop offers great local produce. But I hope that the peace and quiet makes up for it . It was indeed a shame about the rainy weather last week as the garden is usually a great place to chill and have a BBQ and listen to our birdsong. Bedlinen is available on request , especially for our overseas visitors and I will make this clear in our information . We try to keep the costs down for everyone which hopefully, keeps the cottage at a very competitive price .

“Home From Home”

Stayed here on 4 occasions in the past and booked next years stay on the day we arrived this year. Always receive a warm welcome, nothing is too much trouble and well behaved dogs are welcome! Secluded, clean, well appointed cottage - everything you need for a happy, comfortable stay and if you do not feel like cooking excellent food available at the Marram Grass only 5 minutes drive away. All local attractions are only a short drive away e.g. Newborough Beach, Plas Newydd plus plenty of leaflets in the cottage to plan your days out. Should you need anything then Clare is always there with a smile. Our favourite place to stay in Anglesey regardless of the weather.
