Description
This lovely 4 bedroom house with pool is in the heart of a charming unspoilt village in the Corbières, just 25 mns from the stunning Mediterranean coast.. It has been beautifully renovated to retain its charm, whilst providing you with all the home from home comforts. It is 160 years old, and has original tiles in most rooms. It offers the most peaceful setting, is ideal for family holidays, walking and cycling groups. It is available for long term rentals
It has a separate secluded walled courtyard, which looks out onto the hills, ideal for sunbathing and cooling down in the pool or dining beneath the stars. Maison de la Fontaine is ideally suited to family holidays. The surrounding region is of historical value with its own micro climate, enjoying 300 days of sunshine annually, benefiting from long hot summers and the most amazing star filled sky. Vineyards, ancient monasteries and medieval castles characterise the landscape whilst the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are a short drive away. The village has an award winning Cave Coopérative so a visit is a must to sample some of the best local wine.
The property is located in the village of Embres et Castelmaure, which is reputed for its wine. There is daily bread delivery at about 11am. Also, various local produce is sold ( meat, cheese, locally grown organic fruit and vegetables and the most amazing peaches you're likely to taste)
.For all other amenities, Durban Corbieres is 7kms away. It has a small supermarket, a boulangerie, a bar, a restaurant, a pharmacy, a post office, a doctor's surgery and a dentist.

Depending on availability prices for weekend, mid-week and special occasion celebratory holiday stays can be arranged.The property should be left in a clean and tidy condition.

Maison de la Fontaine is spacious and cool in summer. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a range gas cooker, a fridge freezer, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster etc. There is a comfortable dining area for 10 people. There is a selection of books, games, DVDs,a DVD player at your disposal. Three of the bedrooms have double beds and one has two single beds and bunk beds. They have been tastefully furnished with antique furniture. Two of the bedrooms have en suite facilities, and there is also a family bathroom. All linen is supplied. If you require a cot or high chair please let us know when you book.

The pool, which is for your own personal use, can entertain children and adults alike, and is ideal for taking advantage of the sunny climate. There is an outdoor kitchen area with a cooker, a barbecue and a pizza oven- just perfect for al fresco wining and dining . The outdoor table and chairs seats 10 comfortably and overlooks the beautiful Corbieres hills..

“Breathtaking area and beautiful property”
We had a wonderful time here as part of our 6 week hoilday in France. The welcome was warm and nothing was too much trouble. The house itself was very well equipped (especially for an enthusiastic cook like me), the bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean! The courtyard was fantastic with its pristine pool and eating area. What a treat to eat under the stars then take a midnight dip. Bliss!
