Our beautifully-appointed home pays homage to the Colonial Period. It comfortably sleeps eight guests with four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. It boasts elegant dining and living rooms. Enjoy the quiet street and an easy stroll to downtown Annapolis.

We have taken great care and paid pain-staking attention to detail to ensure that guests enjoy their stay at the Gilbert Thornton Renaut house. This old-style post-and-beam house is truly a treasure.

The house has a large, well-stocked kitchen that is great for aspiring chefs and bakers. It's large enough to serve as a gathering place, too, while meals are prepared. We try to ensure the pantry has sundries and essentials. The dining room seats up to 8 to feast on the culinary pursuits undertaken in the kitchen. We can arrange for additional tables and seating if needed. The living room harks back to the bygone colonial days with relics and furnishings of that departed era. It has a piano, a stereo, jigsaw puzzles, and other games such as trivial pursuit, bridge, backgammon, etc. In the winter, the roaring fireplace crackles and quickly thaws any cold fingers and toes. The bedrooms are spacious, furnished with comfortable beds and new linens, and have flat-screen televisions. There is cable in two of the bedrooms, a DVD player in one room complete with a DVD collection, and a Roku for streaming in the kids' bedroom. The kids' bedroom also a closet of toys and bookshelf full of children's book. There is a washer and dryer available for your use in the basement.

The house is centrally located so that you can go car-free for your stay and explore Annapolis on foot - unless, of course, you prefer the free Annapolis Circulator Trolley that stops at the end of the street or the water taxi that can whisk you away in unique style to downtown or to Eastport (during peak season only).

The owners grew up in Maryland's capital, so they can provide endless advice on where to go, what to do, and how best to enjoy America's sailing capital. You can easily walk to the charming brick-lined streets of historic downtown-- where you can stroll along City Dock, watch boaters strut their stuff on Ego Alley, take the kids to battle pirates on the Sea Gypsy, captain your own boat, rent a canoe or a kayak or a paddle board, go on a walking tour or a ghost tour, take a trolley or Segway tour, or dine waterfront.

Or maybe you want to see what it's like to be a midshipman. Visit the Naval Academy and take a tour.

Still looking for things to do? Maybe art and culture is your thing. There are 25 fine art galleries within walking distance of downtown. Additionally, galleries and museums offer classes and sponsor year-round musical and performing arts events. Want free fine art? Who doesn't?! The Elizabeth Myers Mitchell Gallery at St. John's College is the only accredited fine arts museum in the area and admission is zippo, nada, nothing.

Festivals and events abound in Annapolis. In-season sailboat races every Wednesday night...the First Sunday Arts Festival (free! and running through October) is an arts and craft show featuring 100 local and regional artists with live music, dance, street performers, food, and more... county fairs... seafood festivals... sail and powerboat shows... lights on the Bay... and this is to name just a few.
