“Dino Welcome”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2017

Our boys love the loft. Especially Dino. They could not wait for him to come by every morning. Thank you for the great stay&first Yosemite trip.

“Lovely loft that suited our needs.”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2016

The loft was a lovely place for my family and I to stay for our trip to Yosemite. I would reomend it as a place to stay and drive a short distance to Yosemite. Shell and her family are very friendly and welcoming and I would most definately stay here again if my travels would warrent. Which I hope they do! Yosemite is a great place to visit and staying at the Old Oak Hideway 1 was perfect for us.

“Great place, we've stayed twice!”

This a great, clean, and easy vacation rental. The kitchen has all of the cookware you may need and there is even a cooler with ice packs if you are taking a day trip into Yosemite. We liked it so much last year that we came back again in 2015. The best tip we could offer would be to shut the windows and turn on the AC to avoid an early wake up call by roosters and peacocks.

“Clean, comfortable stay.”

The decor is really nice, the bottom cabinets could use some sprucing up to keep up with the rest of the rental. It's really a nice spot. Nice kitchen with all the amenities to cook some meals for yourself. The beds are clean and firm. Great shower, always had hot water with four adults in the rental. We used this rental as a jumping off spot for Yosemite, be aware - it's an hour outside the park. We were prepared to leave early in the mornings and stay late, so it worked out for us.

“Pefect Hideaway ;-) !”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2015

We stayed in Old Oak Hideaway I from April 6-9, 2015. Location is perfect whether you choose to enter Yosemite in South or West Entrance. The place is quiet, clean and safe. The transaction was very smooth from reservation and returned of our security deposit. The owner Shell & Dan responded to our email inquiries in a very timely manner. The kitchen is fully stocked with day to day needs, like salt, pepper, condiments, coffee with every utensils you will need to feed your family even waffle maker :-). The beds, linens, towels are clean. We didn't get a chance to use the fire pit because it was raining but got a chance to meet the friendly dog Dino. We will definitely consider the place when we come back to Yosemite. Place is highly recommended. A+

“Enjoyed our stay”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2014

Kitchen was well equipped with needed dishes and cooking utensils. Appreciated having salt, pepper, and other staples available. In the freezer we found frozen ice cooler containers. We had brought ice, but we used the plastic ones in our cooler which helped keep our water and lunch supplies cold. The rental does have portable coolers if you do not have your own. Unit was clean. Great to have hot water for showers. Appreciated owner providing info about the area and town prior to our arrival. That information helped us reserve a moonlight tram tour in Yosemite. These tours have limited space and are only offered during full moon. Entry lock with a push button code made it easy to come and go - without wondering what we had done with the key. Thanks!

“Convenient location to Yosemite with all the amenities needed for a self catering vacation.”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2014

We wanted somewhere quiet, to stay, close to Yosemite, where we could cook our own meals! That is exactly what we found, all utensils that we needed were there, the room was clean, hosts friendly, but left us to ourselves and all was comfortable. The location was equal distance to two of the park entrances and close to a grocery store. The only thing that we could not make work was the TV., but as we were trying to escape from that it was not a problem.

“Great for babies, full kitchen, home away from home!”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2013

This is a great guest house. It was separate from the main house which was important to use since we were traveling with our 13 month old baby. He doesn't sleep so well. :) Crying in hotels or disturbing next door guests in other vacation rentals was a concern for us. Shell was super accommodating and it worked out great! I believe she even provided a pack 'n play but we had our own. It was 108 degrees when we were there, but the a/C handled it no problem. There are lots of new and nice kitchen ware which is also a gamble with vacation rentals. It's been completely renovated so the floors and bathroom etc are all new too. With Roku for Netflix and a full kitchen we almost forgot to go to Yosemite! The park is about 1 hr 15min away at average speed and traffic. With little ones it can be a little too much driving in and out but we were well aware of this when booking. We booked the weekend of July 4th 2 weeks in advance to one of the most popular National Parks in the country! Yup couldn't find anything in the park, we were just so happy to find something as nice as this! Great place, would recommend if you don't mind a little drive into the park. Home away from home, good for babies.

“Great stay for visiting Yosemite”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2013

We are a family of four that had a great stay while visiting Yosemite. The unit was clean and very well equipped and Dan and Shell were great hosts. It is so nice to feel at home in a separate apartment away from the crowds where you can prepare your own meals.
