Very Good

“Close to Lions Head”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2015

The property is very clean and close to Lions Head. The house accommodated our large group comfortably. The fire place was my favorite feature, with openings on 3 sides; plenty of wood to keep burning. It is not a true "ski in/out" but it is a short walk to the run that leads to the gondola at Lions Head. Great property overall! Items told to the property manager to improve: The oven/stove do not cook true to temp & the knives need sharpening. She said she would address those issues immediately. We chose to cook all of our meals at home, and the kitchen set up allowed us to do so easily. Having a grill on the deck was awesome! The internet went down while we were there and the property manager drove up the next day to reset it. Lovely property and we will stay here again.

Response from the owner Dear CJ, It was a pleasure having you and your group stay at the Chalet and I'm glad you enjoyed the great powder on Vail mountain and the lovely fireplace to come home to and warm up. My husband has sharpened all the knives so they are good to go again. :-) We hope you'll return again next ski season! Best regards, Heather Kehoe

“Great place to stay for skiing in Vail”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2014

This Ski-in was at a great location for skiing in Vail, just a 3 minute walk from Lionshead Vail Square. If you want to get the first tracks on the snow, this is the place to stay. The wooden interior was very clean and cozy, with a nice fire place in the living room. It also had a jacuzzi which was great for after skiing! Plenty of beds and bedrooms for large families or groups to stay. I felt very much at home, and I would love to come here again.

Response from the owner I'm glad your stay at Chalet du Soleil was all you had hoped for. Great to have you! See you again next year! All the best, Heather

“Perfection in Vail”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2014

A wonderful home just 100 yards from the slope. Perfect for a family or a group of friends. The is ideal to relax after a hard day hitting the slope or just enjoying Vail village. Plenty of room to stretch out. I definitely recommend visiting.

Response from the owner Thanks, David. We would be delighted to welcome you back again next year! All the best, Heather and Chris

“Best family ski house in Vail!”

Reviewed 21 Jan 2012

I have been skiing all over the us for 20 years and this is still my favorite place to stay. As a repeat guest for many years I am treated as a family friend by the owners who always extend their warmest hospitality to everyone in our group. This classic ski chalet is perfect for families or groups with sleeping areas on 3 levels for added privacy. Great room with massive fireplace and lots of windows. You can watch the Lionshead gondola moving along. No parking hassles here, just walk to the lifts. Comfortable and convenient. Plus, complimentary wine is excellent!

“Great Space For Large Groups”

Great location in Lionshead with a great floorplan for bedrooms. Recent upgrade were terrific. Hosts are very accomodating. The yard is excellent for kids to play and slide on the snow.

“Vail Thanksgiving Holiday”

Reviewed 19 Jan 2012

Our stay was wonderful. This place was amazing! It really is mere steps from the ski run into Lionshead village, and an easy walk, even for an oxygen starved Floridian like myself. You can park the car for the whole time you are there. If you do feel the need to drive, there are two grocery stores within 2 miles. The kitchen is beautifully done with very modern appliances. We had Thanksgiving dinner for 9 (including 3 kids under age 10) at the dining room table beside a warm fire in the very impressive fireplace. There was a huge TV for watching football too. The dishwasher made cleaning up pretty easy too. Everything went so well, it was the perfect way to relax with family for Thanksgiving dinner. After, I claimed one of the three cozy sofas to sleep off dinner. When time for sleeping really came around, everyone was comfortably tucked away. The kids slept upstairs (with their own sink for brushing their teeth) and my in-laws slept downstairs in the apartment that has its own kitchenette. My wife and I had the master suite, and I have to tell you, there is a very pleasant surprise in that room. We enjoyed discovering the hot tub tucked away there. For the next several days, everyone who wanted to ski spent plenty of time up on the slopes at Vail. My wife and I took the kids for hot chocolate in Lionshead village, and were tempted to try ice skating too. There's plenty of restaurants in the area, although they can be a little pricey. And with the guest house just a short walk up the road, we ate most of our meals in the house instead of in the village. Coming from Florida, this was a long trip for us and I was nervous about the arrangements. But all of our questions were either answered immediately or we got a call back within minutes. We asked the owners to make sure there was enough snow, and they even managed to make that dream come true! All in all, this was a very good value for the money, and a wonderful place to stay. We definitely will be going back.
