Description

With spacious accommodation for up to eight people spread out over three floors, this property is close to the centre of Whitby and offers easy access to all the local attractions.A short walk along the river will take you from this charming property to the town's facilities. Situated at the end of a terrace, this cottage has been decorated and furnished to a high and modern standard throughout. It has enough sleeping accommodation for up to eight people, offering a contemporary base for large families or a group of friends. To the rear there is a garden in which you can enjoy a glass of wine during the summer. In winter, central heating and a plasma flame-effect fire keep the cold firmly at bay, making this an ideal base at any time of year.

Amenities: Gas central heating with gas fire in sitting room. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, 3 x TVs, Freeview, DVD, radio/CD player, WiFi. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Travel cot (please bring own cot bedding), highchair and stairgates on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Small, enclosed garden with patio area, garden furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk.

Region: The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Town: Whitby is one of the most popular locations in North Yorkshire. Situated close to the River Esk it spans up the coast amongst some of the region's finest scenery. The town is rich with historical landmarks and the coastal waters give way to fossils which you can dig up on your own or buy from local vendors. The well-preserved architecture, such as Whitby Abbey, has appeared in some very famous movies and television series. Now lying in ruins, Whitney Abbey is a local landmark that towers almost two hundred steps above the historic St. Mary's Church. Local lore speculates that Dracula himself was laid to rest on the church grounds. In addition to the Abbey, the town itself has a large amount of shopping, fine dining, and theatres to keep you occupied during your tour of this lovely seaside resort.

“Great cottage”

Reviewed 18 May 2019

2 families stayed together in this lovely cottage. There was plenty of room for all of us over 3 floors. Whitby is our favourite seaside town, and we stay every year. It is 15 minute walk into town which meant we couldn't just pop in if we had forgotten something but it is a pleasant enough walk so don't be deterred by this. Great for parking and a little park across from the house for those with young children. The kitchen is well stocked. Thank goodness there is a second lounge, to ship the teenagers in as the living room would be very cosy with everyone in it. My only grumble was the squeaky floorboards. Put a heavy sleeper in the downstairs bedroom as noise from the floorboards in the kitchen makes it impossible to have a lie in if other people are up. But don't let this stop you from visiting this cottage as it is lovley and modern.
