“Conveniently located, pleasant, good value.”

We enjoyed our stay at Plantation Hale, unit B6. It was a ground floor unit, near the office. The building was just off the highway, but seperated by a large hedge. We had a nice lanai but no view except the hedge. The unit was nicely appointed. The bed was king size and very comfortable, which was important to us. Living room furniture appeared to be fairly new and was very comfortable. Kitchen was ok....stove was smaller than usual. No dishwasher. Biggest complaint here was a small 2 cup coffee maker. They need to purchase a full size coffee maker. Very inconvenient in morning to have to make more than one pot. Other than that, kitchen had everything we needed. Bathroom was fine. Had tub/ shower combo except tub plug would not hold water so having a bath was out. These few minor things did not spoil our vacation, but could improve the stay for future occupants. We did enjoy the pool and hot tub, very close to unit and very quiet while we were there. The complex is convenient to many nearby restaurants, shops, grocery stores etc...we walked to Trees bar one night and Lava Lava restaurant, both just 5 minutes away. Hukilau restaurant is just 2 minutes walk away. All in all we found this a very good place if one is seeking a value. Certainly not luxury, but clean, and comfortable if you are on a budget. Also might add that we did not find the traffic noise a bother.

We loved the proximity to the beach, playground, and bike paths. There is a great open market and two large grocery stores within walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pools were clean and pleasant. I loved barbequing under the palms, and walking over to the nearby shops in the coconut market in the evening. Kapaa is a central spot for accessing all of the island's destinations. We had a great family vacation.

Was told by husband of management team that the bedroom had a California King bed & a twin, plus a single pullout in living room. Only had king bed in bedroom, plus full/queen pullout in living room. There were 4 single adults in our group & we wanted another bed. With advice from Plantation Hale receptionists called Garden Island Prop manager & was told that she had a twin air mattress that we could use-no air pump. We had to pick up at her house 1/2 mile down road. She suggested that we take to gas station to inflate. We were to launder sheets & return to her when done. We bought $ 25 air pump. In her defense after we checked out she told me that there was an air mattress in closet. There were 2 blue Wal-Mart type bags in closet. The one on lower shelf had a lamp in it. I would have needed a step stool to reach top shelf bag, thought it was private, wasn't told anything was there so didn't look. Nice location. Close to beach & shopping. Receptionists of regular rooms very nice, concerned, helpful. Reasonably priced. Easy parking.

Response from the manager Mahalo for your review. Looking back on our records, it appeared that the unit you initially inquired about (3 email inquiries for this one particular unit) did have 2 Queens in the bedroom w/a pull out sleeper. It appears that when you booked On Line, you selected a completely different unit than the one you initially inquired about; which was explained to you. To assist in your predicament upon arrival, we did offer an air mattress with sheets. We do agree this is one of the most reasonably priced properties we have with full kitchen, air conditioning, 3 pools and 2 hot tubs all located within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.
