“family reunion”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2015

We stayed two nights (family of four). Our 6 year old daughter loved the loft & she & I ascended a nearby mountain via a service road. The ascent was about 800 feet and afforded great views of the immediate valleys & distant mountains. Did see some large cat prints, but no wild animals. The weather was pretty wet this year, but the area & hospitality is very nice. Wish I had know about the horseback riding just up the road towards Crested Butte. Black Canyon about 2 hours west is worth the visit. Highway 50 is a real scenic ride & we even saw some bighorn sheep in bighorn sheep canyon! Hope the pot laws don't ruin Colorado, too, b/c that stuff stinks & we had to smell it reeking up a LaQuinta Inn in Rifle.

“Cabin was pathetic!”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2013

Absolutely run down and dirty, old/stained linens, stained furniture, uncomfortable bed, sink faucet broke, dishes/pans in need of replacement, very loud furnace, not fireplace as promised---extremely expensive for what you get---upset and incredibly disappointed with our stay in this cabin.

Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback. We will look into the items you list here although I would like to know more specifically what was "stained and dirty." If you read our reviews, many people rave about our housekeeping and we constantly look at wear and tear in our cabins. I had not received any of the complaints on this cabin that you list here. It is always difficult to provide the desired value to guests, as each guest has a different view of what a cabin should be, what is a good value and what is too expensive. Regarding a fireplace, the reservationist you spoke with is very experienced and perhaps she had told you about our river mountain chalets as an option, which do have a fireplace but they are more expensive. We provide rustic to upscale here and the pricing reflects the lodging amenities but we do pride ourselves on cleanliness so I will pass along your comments to our housekeeping department. As always, I prefer to talk first hand with guests about specific problems so please feel free to contact me. -Jen Bickford, General Manager

“It was okay.”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2013

We have been coming to the resort for about 5 years now and this was the first year that our accommodations were not to our satisfaction. We found the cabin to be much to small for 5 men to sleep and eat in. Now I know you were sold out for this past weekend and there was nothing you could do for us to make it better. So; as I was told by one of your people on Saturday morning it's probably best to call next year at least 5 or maybe even 6 months in advance to reserve a bigger cabin and that's what I plan to do. See you next year.

“Great stay at three rivers”

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay in our cabin. Had everything that we needed and everyone was very helpful. I only wish that we could have stayed longer.

“just ok this year”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2012

Was not as happy this year as we were the last 2 years. No fires because of fire ban. The water shut off twice for over an hour, right when we were trying to take showers. It was raining the first night, and the TV shut off because of no signal. The price keeps going up every year, and the upkeep is not as good. May try somewhere else next year.

Response from the manager Well, unfortunately we cannot control the weather, the fire ban or the county television service that is supplied to those cabins. Several years ago we did not even supply t.v.'s at all. We do however have some premium cabins with satellite t.v. if that is important to you. We are continually trying to improve upon our services and I appreciate your feedback. As far as pricing, those cabins (and most of them) have not changed in price in at least 3 years. When we do a check against other cabin resorts in our area and Colorado, we are still on the lower price end. We are also less than many of the local hotels where you will not have a full kitchen, deck, grill, and resort atmosphere. I'm sorry that you found your stay to be unsatisfactory and I would be happy to receive more specific feedback on things we CAN control like "the upkeep." Thanks, Jen Stevens, Resort Manager

“Good comfort for the price”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2011

Overall I was very satisfied with the cabin and my stay. I loved the fact that I was able to bring my dog and cook in a full kitchen when I didn't want to eat out. The couch and chair made it that much more home-like; I felt much more at ease in the cabin than I would have in a hotel room and the staff were great!

“It is a great value and offers plenty of peace and quiet!”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2011

Even though this cabin is not on the water, it offers a great home away from home with plenty of peace and quiet. Each morning I looked out the window and could see trees and mountain area and fresh air. A must go place.
